The "OMG! Look what happened in DoC!" Thread

I have a question. What are the conditions for an independant civ to be peaceful again? Once in a while, I discover the Independant I DoW for passage once again re-enter a state of peace after a while. Don't know why?

If there is no conflict between an Independent civ and your civ for a set number of turns (I think 10?) then peace will break out. There is no announcement though.

Thanks Blizzrd. Will try to find the exact number of turns.

I'm playing with Egypt and was philosophically trying to justify why would I attempt to grab Yerushalayim so early with mercenaries WChariots (yes old version; want to perform crazy ahistorical things before turning in to the latest version). Not only I'm not in a hurry without Fishing (only good tile indeed) and waiting until T51 provides a free GProphet settled thanks to the given wonder. And then the city is worth to be taken (in the sense not cost heavy).
I wished to connect Babylon and Djanet but that would impose to capture Jerusalem.
But since the peace is restablished, then all I need is to hurry a road (I think those archers don't attack workers...UNITAI_CITY_DEFENSE script...) and wait for automatic peace. Then bam I get my two cities connected...will try this out.

A well-blobbed France.*

*(I don't play the EU series myself. Another time, Norway declared war on France and conquered Paris and Brest.)

The Crusades happen to be more successful in this universe.

Yet again...

Funny, I got that Vikings popping up in China too as Khmer. Seems a lot of strange things I happening in the current unbalanced version. I welcome it though.

The French crusade looks almost exactly like Kurdistan haha.

The Vikings were wiped out on their first turn by a single legion. I have to continue playing this. Man, this will destroy natural world development.

How? Do they start out at war with Rome?

I have no idea what happened, I was playing as the Maya. This is the new DoC, and this has never happened before. My assumption was that by luck, Rome had a legion adjacent to Oslo at the start, and because AI cities are not garrisoned when they first spawn, the legion had a free opportunity at taking Oslo.

Other than that, I don't know. I'll have to send screen shots of how this will develop, it looks really interesting so far.

Dutch Australia, there is also Haarlem 2S and 1SE of Maastricht.

And a little bit later they added a few more cities to reach 15 in Australia.:crazyeye:

'Anti-reelectionist'? What civics are that?
Also, that really belongs in the 'Bad city placement thread' too. The number of abominations of cities in one screenshot is bigger than I've ever seen.

That's the best bit of Newspeak I've ever heard ... no, it's not - I just read about the historical use of the word. You clever so and so. Still if it was used generically for a dictatorship that would be withoutfear.

Actually autotarian civics without State Property.

Yeah, my eyes hurt so much that I had to nuke them.

This is more of a funny coincidense than a OMG-moment, but I think that the citizens of Qusqu should worry about their safety for entirely different reasons...

I think that Lake Eyre should be a salt lake (if it isn't already). Further, I think that founding a city adjacent to it without being on the coast should not be possible.

In reality, Lake Eyre only fills with water on a very sporadic basis. It can be 5-15 years between filling events at times. So there is just no way that the water body should be able to sustain a permanent city.

Definitely. The Australian map needs a fair few changes.

IRL the Dutch weren’t really interested in the continent for settlement were they?
