hey folks,

doc v.13 coming along nicely? CAN'T WAIT!


okay..here is the "incidence": i'm playing a game as mongolia, built it up to a nice lil empire spanning half of eurasia, good relations with everyone...when this happens. i trade with the dutch. they offer me economics, which i'm just researching (10 turns to go) for rifling and 800 gold. i accept...and BAM! they declare war on me..byzantium and germany joining the party as well...all three i had good relations with prior to that. so..what triggered the declaration of war?

really bugging me, this.

The discovery of Rifling triggers the Trading Company conquerors for the Dutch, English and French AIs. Were the Indonesians your vassals or did you have a Defensive Pact with them (or did you or one of your vassals/DP partners otherwise control Indonesia)?

nope, indonesia didn't exist anymore. but there was an english colony there...and i had a defensive pact with them...so you say by giving them rifling they got their conquerors event and since indon was british...bam, war...

Exactly. Occasionally the AI will surrender a city in a Trading Company zone without a fight, but I'm sure the English were stronger than the Dutch and not about to give them a city for 600 gold. The Dutch declared war on the English, you declared war on the Dutch automatically, and the DP partners of the Dutch declared war on you automatically.

no major war ended that I was aware of (and I know pretty much everyone). There was another congress before I won in 1450.

There were always 2 mombasas in doc. Since there are 2 Tripoli I used to thought there were 2 Mombasa, but it seems that the natives spam a fake Mombasa because they dont have more names... Or that civs settle a fake Mombasa.. Anyway this has been this way for too long

The southern one. It's odd when you see Portugal conquer to rename it to their version of Mombasa...and then go found northern Mombasa. But yeah, like Hojsimpson says, that needs changing.

Isn't it a bit too far south to be Dar es Salaam? But if the distortion is acceptable, then Zanzibar would probably make much more sense.

global warming really needs an overhaul.
i get the concept..it's a nifty add-on...but the spawn system is beyond weird. i WB'd that desert away and turned some fresh green meadows on my coast into dryer lands instead....god, how i long for a realistic climate thingie...*wink
