The "OMG! Look what happened in DoC!" Thread

The Roman road thing does seem to happen pretty much all the time in 3000 BC start games, unless I'm just getting really strange coincidences but they seem to really like building roads into Russia lol

What a world!
- Catholicism not founded until the 1400s by Portugal.
- Rome ruled by a mighty Arabic Empire from Africa to Central Asia.
- A mighty Holy Roman crusade has taken the Levant, Africa, and Arabia.
- After the HRE collapsed, the Poles and Russians took their place to protect Levantine Christianity.
- And to top it all off, a Buddhist giga-Mughals has conquered all of India, and China up to the Yangtze.

Wait, what?
imagen_2023-03-04_235105439.png

This happened at the beginning of 600AD game. Checked through World Builder and there isn't any hint of Makkah being controlled by Korea, or indeed, Arabia in war with Korea.

Do you have a save from this game? Or maybe the starting save?

On the current (stable?) 1.16 Version, I observed two funny things:

The first was the Iberia peninsula: When Moors and Spain spawned, Spain foolishly decided to attack the Moors in under 10 turns which resulted in Spain being wiped out. The Moors dominated Iberia until Portugal spawned, and then eventually collapsed. The wars of the Reformation then saw a Polish invasion force conquer Lisbon:

Same game, Japan which had NO ties to North America whatsoever, did a stunning move in World Congress:
Sure, the attempt to take over control in Philadelphia failed, but it was a bold decision.
I keep seeing Japan claim New York in some of my games. Truly hilarious

It's Digital Era and Byzantine goes fine. Not big, not small. But they going much better then Ottomans (they usually outdate with tech)
I used spy to switch them from despotism to democracy, so they became solid (much of my army was busy in americas, and i wast need a spawn of Ottomans near my borders.

P.S. Sweden used congress for expance in south India. They demand 2 city, and then capture nex one

Zoroastrian China has been achieved, folks. Now, time to lose it all to the Mongols...

Did you know that some esoteric, heterodox Russian and Indian academics believe that ancient Russia was settled by a Vedic civilisation, that the proto-Slavs and Vedic Indians were the same people, that the Slavic pagan faith was the same as the Vedic one, and that the Slavic language is directly inspired by Sanskrit? To commemorate these batshit morons, I decided to spread Hinduism from Amsterdam to Vladivostok (while also securing the Russian UHV).

Mexico destyroying the US right now in 1853.
Screenshot (21).png

I'm thinking of gifting Mexico ballistics to give them a tech advantage, allowing them to finish the rest of the US off. US hasn't researched ballistics yet but is going for refining right now (?). That's probably why they're not doing good.

The year 650AD, persian Legio XII Fulminata figthing with barbarians, that came from great mountains of Altai... They call themself "turkic peoples"
How did the Persians wind up with multiple Legions? Those are Roman UUs... and Persia spawns first so it's not like they'd have become Persian in a flip.... I am very confused.

wut, never seen Spain somehow survive, 1700AD start
