The "OMG! Look what happened!" Thread

There aren't any improvements showing on the tile, which led me to suppose it was never founded.

Also: unpronounceable city names for the win?

While playing Incas, I had a message telling me that barbarian horse archers were going to arrive at my borders. "But I'm far to be ready !" did I think. Here is what happened :

That's the moment I knew this was going to be a lucky game...
Of course, they finished the game without leaving this spot !

The OMG here: barbarian horse archers going to attack the incans...before the arrival of European conquers. Horses went extinct in the Americas a good time before human civilization evolved in Mesopotamia. So begs the question, where did said horses come from?

Why, from the legendary city of Eldorado

A place never found! Until 1850. Turns out it was California. Massive gold deposits, fertile soil, nice weather, almost all needed resources, oil, and beautiful landscape. Come for the gold, stay for the weather and land

I never play Inca, so I never have to face this but if this happened to me, the barbs would just need to march down the coast and raise my cities one by one (I never actually defend myself:mischief:)

Also, isn't it spelled fôret? Maybe France French is different.

/facepalm...I general avoid playing those cigs because of conqueror event...I generally aren't good at remembering military...unless I find my self getting piled on...happened once in MP vs my brother...I won domination, as a result of having to fight off the AI horde, then going imperial myself.
France French is different. It has to be(I'm assuming our poster here is canadian, eh?)

Yeah, the conquerors event just kills playing an Aboriginal civ for me. I know for certain that I'm going to get steamrolled into oblivion if I wait to see conquerors. Kinda makes me feel like I can do whatever I want and build as great a nation as I want but most likely, it will all be for naught when Cortez comes calling. :(

Also, yes/oui, I am Canadian. :)

I've found stocking up on Catapults gives you a much better chance against the conquistadores. The Mayas have lots of time to prepare for them, making them easier; while the shape of the Inca lands lets you focus all your military in a single city against them. I haven't played the Aztecs much, though, they really are quite hard.

You just have to discover the old world civs before they discover you, and the conqueror event will not trigger. Build a work boat, hang about in the eastern Caribbean and problem solved.

I avoided conquerors by conquering mayan lands. I just get lucky Willem show up there.
