Could be searching for drugs, chemical weapons, bombs, etc.

If the swab was treated with a certain chemical, before or after the swab, it should indicate the presence of whatever they were looking for.

Relative intensity is a percentage of a personal maximum.

Hence exercise scientists will talk of relative intensity when they want everyone to experience the same thing, but also actually want absolute intensity to increase in training protocols.

Airport security is ridiculous these days. I got an E-mail a while back from someone in the army medical services I vaguely know. Apparently when he left the airport he put his rifle in the tray to avoid the metal detector, and was told he had to carry it as hand luggage - after having his leatherman confiscated.

Edit. That reminds me of when I was in Halifax couple years ago. I was waiting for a tour and met this family from Calgary that had flown over. This older woman had a cane, and if you push a button a spike popped out of the bottom. No trouble getting that on the plane.

Thing to note: there are no jobs here - I would have to move to Dublin or back to London for a new job most likely.
