I don't think society is that much sicker than it has been in the past. The problem is that there are a lot more of us these days and we are more exposed to each other everyday. There were idiot women like this long before modern times, but now we are exposed it more frequently and get the feeling that it is somehow worse than it was before.

It might indicate a certain stupidity in society, but it is hardly conclusive evidence. There will always be people like that, it's just that with the world's population rising, there is probably a higher number of them then there used to be.

It reminds me of an episode of "divorce court" I saw one time. The crazy wife had written "RIP" on the guys head with red nail polish while he was asleep, set up oil on the floor in a door way and woke him up with "fire!" hoping he would die, and lastly told him her fertility pills were really birth control and poked holes in his condoms.
