Whoever wrote this speech is a genius.

Wait for the punchline. Completely worth it. This one will go down in history.

If you're pinning your hopes on Barack being a Jeff Foxworthy wannabe, you guys are -really- hard up for good news!

Wow, the people behind him are all women. Pretty clever.

Oh yeah, this is Obama Chicago Gangnam Style. It's spot on. Romney can't do this one. Sorry VR, this is the one. The Republican's had unemployment until "7.8%" and for about two days, Bengazi story-changes. The last move is voter suppression.

The Romney "Robocop Debater" Obama-smackdown bounce can't cross the threshold. Obamabucks are on the up.

Don't worry, Obama will do most of the things you wanted Romney to do, only better. It might feel worse, I can't blame you and I respect that, and there will be very rational, thought through things you won't like in areas that Romney wouldn't have let you down. But...:

Obama's gonna be better on employment, and thus ultimately wages, and thus ultimately future growth.
Obama is going to better on the deficit. This might be hard to swallow, but history and economics are on his side. I can show you how if you feel like seeing some graphs and reading some jargon. But long story short: recession-based deficit spending is a small part of our long term fiscal problem and because it promotes faster growth (in a down economy, like ours), it is made up for in the medium-long term by higher tax revenues. It's like the tax cut theory only it actually works.

He will look bad in the process, as you can't go whole hog either way without causing problems in the other in the short run, and roping back and forth will look slow. But it will happen.

He sure stutters a lot.
He sure does. And yet the delivery still worked. He's going to repeat this speech over and over, and it will get down to broadway status.

Perhaps there was a woman hidden behind the podium.

He sure stutters a lot.

When you attempt a comeback that is at best, petulant, you lose what dignity you had left.

Hey, I'm a progressive and just as much a supporter of the president as the next guy, but I am gonna tell you right now, if the president keeps basing his campaign on what is wrong with Mitt Romney, he is going to lose. People want to hear what he has to offer for the next four years, not this crap.

We already know what he's going to do. He's going to ban all guns, completely socialize healthcare, impose an additional 2 dollar / gallon tax on gasoline and raise the top tax bracket rate to 50% while using that revenue to fund an expansion of foodstamps and welfare.

That is not the case. When we think, meh, Mitt's okay, Barack's gotta talk. We hear him at the debate, he's okay. Then the president makes the case "hey, you know what I have to offer the next four years? In addition to a continuation of previous policies, I offer NOT appointing justices that will overturn Roe V Wade, NOT returning to failed economic policies that sound lovely whenever Romney talks," etc.

It's okay to speak the truth even if it's not all sunshine and happiness. Voters aren't weak little whiners who get too upset to vote for someone who isn't only talking flowers and rainbows.

Then someone should tell Mittens and the Republican Party right away.

EDIT: X-post with contre.
