Why are people so much more trusting of judges than lawyers in the UK? Judges are just lawyers who have got the nod from other lawyers, right?
Judges are supposed to be neutral and impartial. A lawyer explicitely not. I think this makes a big difference.

It varies from country to country, though. Here, judges are appointed. In other places they run for election, which is just bizarre. And of course Supreme Court judges are often selected not for their ability to be impartial, but because of their political leanings on certain issues (namely abortion and same-sex marriage).

One judge here was flabbergasted to lose his job because he asked a rape victim why she didn't just keep her knees closed.

Why did CNN give a sex offender who holds no elected office a TV program to present their political platform?

they are testing out getting Fox viewers. The interview was a total s*** show of poorly executed interviewing.

so , whose idea it was to make the Chief of Staff of the good side in the war upnorth disappear ? By gunshots and stuff ? Arguing for a timely retreat like 6 or 8 months back and so on ... To be the first premise of his political platform to run against Zelensky , too .

@Chukchi Husky, the honor of being the next OP is yours.
