You very likely are being ironic (I can see the angle), but it was known the world was round since (at least) the age of Archimedes
The circumference of the planet was calculated by Eratosthenes.

We figured out the circumference of the earth from astronomical measures. I think the best way would be to have a complex orbit so as the Medieval world could not calculate the relationship between the positions of the stars and the shape of the world.Sudden random question about fantasy stories / novels / anime. I am assuming low or medium fantasy, not high fantasy. Medieval technology level, not science fiction.
Why hasn't any characters estimated the circumference of their planet or world?
If anyone wishes to try, it could be fun to compare methods/outcome. It's not out of the realm of possibility that I was wrong![]()

While we both arrived at the same number for the (implicit) case that there are no number repetitions, I'd still like to know if there is any more brief solution. I am not quite sure how you arrived immediately at "2,4,9 are wrong"?Assuming that no numbers repeat, my answer is: 0157
Assuming that they can, my answer would be: 3110
Spoiler for calculations :2, 4 & 9 are definitely wrong
Either 3 or 7 is wrong
Either 6 or 0 is wrong
One of 3, 5 & 8 is good
1 & 0 are good
No 2, 4, 6 or 9
1 is second
0 is first or last
3 is first or wrong
7 is last or wrong
If 3 is good, then 5, 7 & 8 must be wrong
Which only leaves 1 to double up
3 1 1 0
If 7 is good, that leaves 0 1 - 7
8 is not third
0 1 5 7
Why would they? Especially since you're specifying low fantasy. It serves no narrative purpose.Sudden random question about fantasy stories / novels / anime. I am assuming low or medium fantasy, not high fantasy. Medieval technology level, not science fiction.

Syn's got the right basic answer; I'll phrase it alternately . . . be the change you want to see.Sudden random question about fantasy stories / novels / anime. I am assuming low or medium fantasy, not high fantasy. Medieval technology level, not science fiction.

(my own way is so convoluted I already had to edit it thrice; all times for gaps in the proof that 0 being false is a false statement. There now should be no gap).
Edit, actually, I can see now that your approach for your step1 is pretty similar to my part3. This is why posting in detail is useful ^^
Some good background stuff in:Do you know those songs (mostly from the 50s) that use nonsense syllables to round out certain verse?
Is there one that is regarded as most famous, or most iconic? Or just jumps first to mind for you individually?
(Note: not "Who put the bop in the bipty bipty bop?" since that is working in a self-conscious and meta- way with the convention. Just a song that uses that convention.)
