California shouldn't be allowed to secede until they start calling it Califrexit. Calexit clearly doesn't sound as good, and those people are supposed to be better at naming things.
 
California has a legal claim on most of the Colorado River's flow. They waste most of it, sure. But they ain't gonna die of thirst.

The laws are weird. But what it amounts to is that contracted water rights are locked in. But only locked in so long as the water is actually used. So farmers that have locked in water rights have to use that water, whether they need it or not. If they don't, they lose the rights to use it in the future.

That might be too kind. Kitsch is tasteless, yes, but it also represents a sort of naive sincerity; that building strikes me as an absolutely cynical appeal to its prospective clientele's bad taste.

That, or it was build by Elder Scrolls fans given an irresponsibly expansive budget.

I am wondering if those really are statues of the Goddess of Dawn and Dusk outside and how that doesn't run afoul of IP usage.
