Prince Charming with a twist

back in 2018 the FBI helped a dictator abduct his daughter. Princess Latifa of Dubai ran away from the billionaire PM of Dubai so he told the FBI agent attached to the US embassy in Dubai she had been kidnapped. The FBI helped locate a boat she was on in the Indian Ocean and Indian forces boarded it and took her and the crew to Dubai where she was imprisoned and they were beaten and deported.

Why India? Apparently they grabbed her and got a British journalist wanted in India from Dubai as part of the deal.

"Police say that investigators found the bodies of two other men in the bed of the truck — 46-year-old Henry Valdez of Anaheim, California and 76-year-old Paul Pierson of Topeka, Kansas. Pierson was the truck's owner."

Thats about the golf course murder, some guy with 2 bodies in a pu truck drove onto a green in Georgia and the golf pro approached the vehicle and the driver shot and killed him. What caught my eye were the 2 dead guys in the bed of the pu, Anaheim and Topeka. Both have been my hometown.

Τιλ that (not Homer's, but Euripides') Polyphemos preferred boys to girls. Then again, he was very drunk while saying that. After all, if he had been sober, he wouldn't refer to the old and ugly satyr Seilinos as a Ganymede

TIL that in 1985, France's DGSE (Direction générale de la sécurité extérieure - sort of France's CIA or MI-6) sank the Greenpeace ship Rainbow Warrior, with bombs placed on the hull, while the crew were aboard. The ship was part of a demonstration against nuclear weapons testing on Pacific islands and was in port in Auckland, New Zealand. Two limpet mines were placed on the hull of the ship by DGSE commandos, detonating sequentially (maybe a minute apart? the crew hadn't yet gotten out before the 2nd mine detonated). Most of the crew managed to abandon ship, but one man drowned when the explosion jammed the hatch of his cabin shut. At first, the Auckland police believed it to be a publicity stunt gone awry, until divers from the New Zealand Navy examined the damage. They eventually caught and tried two French spies. New Zealand PM, David Lange, called it an act of terrorism. The commandos were never caught; the two spies were sentenced to 10 years in prison by a New Zealand court, but were kept in a French prison for only 2 years before being released.

That was early this morning, on a BBC radio show. Just about an hour ago, I was just chatting with a friend and he asked how the Saudis could so easily get away with murdering Jamal Khashoggi. I could only laugh.

Well, Odysseus certainly caught his eye. ;)

:/

Seilinos likely looked like Pan, and wasn't even a real deity, although in Euripides' play he fought in the Titanomachia and helped the olympians.

And here is a depiction of Ganymede, who was a mere mortal (prince), abducted by Zeus to be his coup-bearer and live forever, on account of "being the fairer of all mortals" (a description, however, one will find for a number of others as well)

Well, Zeus didn't restrain sowing his wild oats just to the ladies, you know!

https://www.insider.com/breathing-workout-lowers-blood-pressure-better-than-exercise-2021-7

5 minutes of breathing with resistance is like a 30 minute walk?

By resistance I assume they have people breathing thru something that restricts air flow so the person has to breathe hard. Isn't that what strenuous exercise does, make us breathe harder?

Also, for diabetics - strength training is better than cardio, building bigger muscles acts as a reservoir for glucose in the blood, pumping iron uses up sugar in the blood and the bigger the muscles the better. That means leg muscles, squats.

its in the 90s here and I weigh myself before golfing and afterward and I'll drop 2-4 lbs from water loss. After I get home and have time to recover with more fluids my weight goes back to where it was before golfing.

Well, yes, because when you lose weight, generally the first thing that happens is water loss, which is why it's easy to lose weight at the start and much harder to keep it off.

One of the main causes of belly fat is drinking alcohol with your meals.

I never drink alcohol :p
I do drink a considerable amount of coca-cola, however.

But having belly fat goes with not doing much exercise, other than walking/running (which I do). It is why my ideal weight is around 65 kilograms; more than that and some element of "skinny-fat" comes in.

Translation: One of the main causes of fat is what you eat and drink.
