Never heard about those Germanic months either. But I love that you don't conform to those Latin standard months.

It comes at a price though. Learning the Latin months is surprisingly difficult, it took me years to internalize the spring and autumn months, March-April-May and September-October-November. I never could remember which one is which and had to count them from the start

On a related note: most of former Yugoslavia uses the Latin standard names, but Croatia, in one of their many attempts to be different for the sake of it started officially using old slavic names after the civil war.

Slovenians use their own names too.

That's possible in every language. Even Dutch could sound more menacing than funny if you're screaming 'Do you want total war' at the top of your lungs.
