Trump Assassination Attempt.

Well even that's one extra thought beyond just mere self-preservation (which comes instinctively quickly).

But, yes, if we give our guy time for that thought, then he made the right decision for his family.

  • 5:10 Crooks was first identified as a person of interest
  • 5:30 Crooks was spotted with a rangefinder
  • 5:52 Crooks was spotted on the roof by Secret Service
  • 6:02 Trump takes the stage
  • 6:12 Crooks fires first shots
Highly competent security response.

This is kind of true in the larger sense that Dems seem to have no playbook for fighting back against the right-wing takeover of the courts. Now, I heard on the news earlier that Biden's gonna come out for court reforms so if that's true at least they're saying the right things.
1000% agree. We've sucked at defending against the Court takeover, Obama was particularly weak when they robbed him after rushing Bush's final appointee before he got in and there wasn't any response. But as you say, Biden's putting forth court reforms so add that to the bag of finally the Democrats are doing something substantive, and it will be big 15 years from now if we keep it up. And it's been that way on most categories, as of this administration only.

Leviticus 14:14 The priest shall take some of the blood of the trespass offering, and the priest shall put it on the tip of the right ear of him who is to be cleansed, on the thumb of his right hand, and on the big toe of his right foot.
Now we know why his shoe was off.

Leviticus 8:23 And he slew it; and Moses took of the blood of it, and put it upon the tip of Aaron's right ear, and upon the thumb of his right hand, and upon the great toe of his right foot.

Consecration and cleansing.

guess which foot?

Sometimes a shoe is more than a shoe.

In the mayhem of the assassination attempt on former president Donald Trump at his rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, a single black Oxford shoe was left behind, abandoned on the stage where the former president was wounded by a sniper’s bullet and smothered in a Secret Service protective scrum.

guess which foot?

You're tying logic and theology into pretzels to try and make a case for the fact that the presidential candidate that in all of the history of the US has been the most utterly furthest from being a Christian must be some sort of a savior because he supports the cause of slavers.

Are you truly incapable of understanding what you are saying? Or are you truly saying all of this because Satan is the one and only thing in all of creation that you care about?

Because there is no argument for a Christian to vote for Trump. Voting for Trump is the same as voting for Satan directly.

Voting for Trump is the same as voting for Satan directly.

If we're gonna quote scripture, Revelation 13:1-9: (KJV, of course)
13 And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.

2 And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.

3 And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.

4 And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?

5 And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.

6 And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven.

7 And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.

8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

9 If any man have an ear, let him hear.

My initial reaction was similar - how could you miss a rifle shot from a prone position at that range? But people who know more than I do about guns & shooting (not a difficult bar to clear though i'm not a total ignoramus) said that 150-200 yards is near the edge of the effective range without optics.
It is. Marksmanship bragging is really common amongst recreational shooters and hunters. Many of these guys won't hesitate to tell you they hit the nose of a moving coyote at 400 yards in a thunderstorm, with a Colt 45, one handed.

In my experience, they'll hit maybe 50% at a stationary target at 150 yards. That's rather high end, after practice, too. It's not a guaranteed thing.

Why are people (I mean media and politicians, I posted such) seriously giving religious interpretations to all this? Is there any other country in the "west" where this could happen to such an extent?
Yes, Trump was extremely lucky to not be hit by the one bullet, but also extremely lucky that the shooter sucked at shooting. If you are careless and barely manage to not be run over by a car, it shouldn't mean that you have special powers and are immune to cars, that up to now it was all a test etc.
Trump is neither a saviour nor the beast. He was pro-democrat (the party) until recently, possibly until when his lust for being "relevant" made him peddle the Obama-passport stuff and then get mocked by Obama himself. Having decided he will run as retaliation, the terribly bad competition he faced allowed him to be potus (something which may well be repeated). The religious angle is really not needed.

We have all been assuming that he wanted to kill Trump. If his intention was to just wing him--put the fear of God in him, say--then his aim was astonishingly good.

Obviously he wanted to kill, he even succeeded. What I am saying is his aim seems to me way above average despite the misses. I was slightly surprised with Lexicus's "how can you miss at 150, while prone". My reaction was the opposite: that’s some impressive/lucky shooting right there. 7-9 rounds left the chamber. One clipped Trump, one killed Comperatore, two more wounded. That's 4 out of 7 (9) at 150 yards presumably without the optics.

Not to mention the tactical side of things: outsmarting 3 agencies to end up on the roof within effective rifle distance and actually making a few shots, before taking the Valhalla express. Youtube commenters are all in on conspiracies at this point. Might this be one of those notorious inter agency cooperation fails? Not the first time I read in the press how things can go epically wrong when 2 or more competent agencies are in charge of the same mission.

He was rushed, by the cop, too. Changes everything.

Never owned a semiautomatic. Never owned a scope. Not sure if that changes mentality. Followup shots just seem... reckless... but different shooting goals, eh? Summers were for plinking, inside too hot.
