Two Cows: NES STYLE

NESing as a Whole: Once upon a time there were two cows, first they were young and frolicked and wrote vaguely entertaining stories. Then for a little while they got bored of that and played board games about fanciful and historical times in history. And all was good, as the people were happy with board games and the entertaining situations offered. Then they rediscovered stories and the cows were surprised. Then a whole bunch of calves pretending to be cows appeared, all wanting to write stories. eventually one old cow left in disgust while the other switched back to writing stories, and for a time things were good once more. The herd of cows grew and grew until they started killing eachother for a time. Eventually the killing stopped with the death of the remaining eldest cow. At this point a man dressed up as a cow appeared to the remaining young cows and said "I am the first cow, the one who started all the stories". All of the cows then began worshipping him unjustly. He brought a new order to the herd, organizing it, making all cows alike it form and action, save but a few. Thus they live on, in a herd of their own creation, worshipping a false cow and acting all the same. Viva NES!

Well we each have an opinion and personally I wont explain mine. I'm willing to look past others opinions and i certainly dont want to press mine on others. To be frank thats all i have to say on the matter, and wont post any more about it.

did so, good work, someone had to say it to put my surly old-timey attitude in line. You youngins have no appreciation for what we old timers did you get y'all your fancy-pants forums to be what they be nowadays ;)

I have an eerie feeling about the false cow, but I'll say nothing for the moment, as I think I disagree.

LINESII- You have two cows. One works hard and updates regularly, the other thinks of ways to weaken Veritas, as it wants to successfully get past update 10. ;)

You "old-timer" ( ) have no appreciation for the fact that the world isn't static, isn't defined by you, and it's the natural order that new generations take over and bring change.
In memory of the spirit of NESing b. April 2002 d. at least a year ago. We will presevere nonetheless, perhaps one day it will return.
Now that's just trolling.

I agree with Israelite on this issue.

Uhm... Seems like the great "old timers" are currently crying about the rotten state of NESing?

So could somebody please tell me clearly what was better about these old days?

I am not an old timer, I started lurking some time before stJNES5, but to me it just looks as if NESing had become more realistic. Is that a bad thing?

Except for das nes's. Have you seen a NES going pass update 10? Thats why this age of NESing is bad, there are no NESess. Yeah there may be like 10 NESes every day, but it's diffren't 10 days everyday and that is quite getting on the old NESers nerves...

LINES made it to update 23 before several people blew up the world. LINESII is on update 5, and very healthy.

It's not the quality of NESing, it's the time and dedication of mods.

Well there are many people around who just started their first NES. They have to gather experience in modding first.

I try not to join NESes which will most likely not last very long because I don't want that all my dedicated time is wasted because the mod gets bored.

Amen. Please, no one judge NESing as a whole by...

stNNES X: So you have two cows. These two cows have been through a lot, eh? Nine other fields they've grazed upon, and each of those nine has burnt to ashes. So here these two cows are. Grazing and grazing. A little milk at the beginning. Then... Oh, dear. No milk... for two weeks. But hey, here's a little more milk. Wait, no, they stopped. Damn it. Oh, a little more milk. Oops, gone again. Damn cows.

Lord Iggy am I playing in your NES?

tossi and yet all NESes latly had a early death...

NK you go update!

IMO NESes seem to last longer then before. RTOR is still the biggest NES ever, but there is a whole bunch of 2000+ posts which all spawned more recently. Sure, there are allways some NESes which die after one or two updates, but that has allways been this way.

To be perfectly honest it is a trend which has occured rather frequently since RTOR 2 and the stJNESes. Often en masse new NESes are started and then collapse. Meanwhile there is always a "super" NES occuring at the same time while the little ones live briefly and then proceed to die.

Yes. And since it started then, it's ALL YOUR FAULT!

(If anyone cannot see the sarcasm that seethes in that last sentence, then I pity you.)

:p

yes i pity them too. Tha ther is quality sarcasm.

Thank you so very much. I simply love when people appreciate my sarcasm as much as you do.
