UK CFC Meet up?

Changing the meeting point now doesn't strike me as smart. I don't even know what Camden is or what can be done there. If it really is interesting we could decide in the daytime to go there. Or we just stick to the plan as it was posted before.
I agree that we should stick to the plan, like Mise said it's easy to get from Camden to Totteningham Court Road anyways, so i'm just gonna go there first and go stright to meet after I get what I want. I'm sure i'll be done by 11, I know what shops in Camden Market to avoid;) so hopefully I will get what I want quickly. So yeah, just count me in as one of the ones meeting at 11.

Just the saturday - Friday night is for me, Mise and Davo to catch up :)
And Tabs!:D She is free till 6ish on the Saturday (then is meeting other friends) so will be with us 3 Fridaty night and then with us at the meet intill then.

Good good, I'm much more likely to be free Saturday. And hungover, but never mind, I hope you three will make me feel like I'm not the only one
:D

Do I need to update anything in the OP or has the plan stuck? Sorry, there are just so many new pages and I suspect someone did an update summary somewhere.

only one point - the specific Starbucks is the one labelled as number one on the following map:

Having a list of attendees would be smart, but for mobile nos; would that really be necessary ?? Just look for people that are looking out for other people. You'll spot them easily enough. [/img]
I thini it would. Knowing British transport, and the volatile nature of London (especially since July), I think it would be a good idea.
As for me, I'll be at the starbucks around 11.

Uh, I don't have a cellphone... :p

Then you're going to have to wear something crazily distinctive instead, like a pirate outfit. Arrrr!

A list of attendees we can post here, for the mobile numbers we just need to have a volunteer we can PM our number to if we want to that is and that one person can then PM them out to all who submitted their number. This should give a good number that can keep in contact if needed and hopefully we should be able to spot anyone else, after all a large group of mostly men lurking around starbucks checking out everyone who approaches will probably be reasonably conspicuous.

In Soho? ;)

I'll be the guy with the umbrella. :groucho:

Honestly, I'll be the old guy who has a blank stare on his face, nubs for hair, glasses with his more than better half blond hair, blue eyed gal.

I've seen pictures of Ram, Rik, Feline, ComradeDavo, Sloz and Sophie in the members pics so I know what some of you look like. I see Furiey riding up on a horse for some reason. Ram and I have a few bets rolling on the rest of you. BTW mine is buried in there somewhere.

I looked at the weather report and I can't wait to warm up. It will be 1C with snow :xmas: (-10C now) in Chicago next week and 9C and raining there.

BTW Anyone got grades for me yet?
Can't wait to meet y'all. :band:

I can pm you pics of my A-level certificates... I nominate Rambuchan as the info-collector, 'coz he started it. Someone who's 100% certainly going, anyway. If there are no volunteers, I can empty my PM box and you can all pm me.

Hmmm, probably not, in Starbucks it might still raise a few eyebrows, or maybe Soho has got even worse since I was last there, although its been a good many years since I visited the Marquee club in Wardour Street.

Right, to completely contradict previous indications I may have given in this thread it now seems that I'll not be available in the evening so will probably have to miss out on any alcohol fuelled idiocy, which is something of a bugger. I do, however, plan on turning up earlier on for the drinking of namby-pamby, ersatz coffee in Starbucks sometime between 11 & 12 and may stick around for other activities provided they don't seem too hellishly touristy. :D

I agree with Eklektikos! No touristy please! I prefer to do things as non-touristy as possible. It's so much more fun that way and I promise I won't wear a camera around my neck. :)

Somehow i will get pictures of these up for proof

Direct quotes from my 2003 Xmas Report Cards-->

Louis is not making much progress at all
He has a greater insterest in social or Internet activitird than getting on with his work.
Louis still under-achieves

And to sum it up:

Louis is not really showing much of his real abilities in his studies. This is a dissapointment to all concerned and should alo be a dissapointment to Louis but it does not seem so. Getting by on a wing and a prayer is not a good foundation for the future and he would do well to heed the advice offered above.

I did kinda under achieve.
I went from 5 A's at A.S. level (as good as you can get really)
To B,B,B,C,D

Oh well, it got me into my second choice uni where i am very happy
(and currently wasting time here when i should be doing a 3000 word essay in for tomorro.. did someone say i never learn? :( )

I will certainly bring a camera. Especially since I found out the hotel I am staying in has Broadband internet in the rooms. Hopefully I can upload some pictures the same day.

Would a walk in the city be "too touristy?". I'd like to do some sight-seeing, but not too much. London by X-mas.

I will have a camera too. I would like to explore the city vs. museums and if there's a local CFC guide to give us some direction that would be swish.
Is that word in context?

Are CFC lurkers welcome?

 I may not be able to come. It's all complicated.
The original plan was that my sister would come to visit me this coming week, and I would go directly to London from here. Now she's not coming, so I've got no reason to stay in Bham. Hence, I'll be going home to SW Wales this w/e.
But... the train takes 6 hours from there, not 2. The earliest train on Saturday gets in at around 1, not good. If I travel all night, I can arrive at 8.30. Neither prospect appeals. Travelling on Fridays and finding a hotel is expensive. I'd need to find a hotel for Saturday night too if I can't get on one of the easy trains back to Bham. WTH shall I do? :hmm:
 And the cheapest ticket is £45 with a railcard, and the cheapest hotel is £40 for two nights. I don't know if I can afford it.

I'm going to be playing rugby in some remote place so I won't be able to make it realistically. I'll be pissed up North :D

Sophie, I'm not going to be there so rest easy and say you couldn't be bothered as a result...

Ooh, it's the 17th of Dec...hmm, might be able to come down in reality and do my Xmas shopping.

Depends entirely upon whether we've got a rugby match or not and if I can tolerate the thought of London.
