Unit requests thread

I just wanted to repeat and bump these requests.

I'd like to request a few units AchillesZero was working on before he left.

A Medieval/Renaissance Spanish Great General. Modelled after a conquistador like Pizzaro.

A medieval and modern European Great Prophet. He was making a pope specifically.

An Indian Great General for ancient and Medieval eras.

A Celtic Great General, modelled after Vercingetorix.

A Scottish Highland swordsman, modelled after the Braveheart movie. (he was going to do a "William Wallace" GG and then a regular soldier for this one)

A Frankish GG, modelled after the Paladin Roland.

I don't really expect anyone to do all of these, but one or two would be awesome. :goodjob:

Hi
I have beengoing thru the threads and havn't found a good graphics for a unit I want in my own mod. It is the sub hunter the catalina. I saw a few people asking but never saw if any graphics were done. I downloaded a few mods however didn't see what I was looking for. and some WWII europe that siad they have the unit crases when I try to launch and see how the graphics look.
If someone could point me where a catalina graphics exists. thanks.

I've a question.

Is there a programm with which I can desing my own units graphics?
And if yes, were do I find it?

Do you want to change the appearance of any existing unit (reskinning) or do you want to create wholly new units? For the first this tutorial might help: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=183568&highlight=reskin, for the late maybe this one: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=296286. Otherwise search the tutorialforum a bit. There should be some help for you.

:xmastree:Merry Chrismas, everyone

This is not so much a request for a unit (although if someone wanted to make them that'd be fine with me) but does anyone know a good place to find some examples of soldiers from the Timurid dynasty/empire? I am making a Timurid module and I use flavored units for the civs in my mod and I'd like to give them a good unit set.

Thanks in advance for any help.

I'd like to request a Cuirassier, Grenadier and Musketman (although Oromo or Musketeer animations would be fine too) unit which as the Eurasian Horseman from Warlords as the soldier. Thanks in advance if anyone can do this for me.

I'd like to renew my search for a unitmaker who can help me with my mod, Fictionalization IV. One thing that's been missing since its onset has been artwork for the units. I've made several very basic models for a few of the units I need and pulled the rest from the database.

A link to the main thread discussing the mod is in my sig, and check out the subforum for the mod as well to get an idea of what I'm looking for.

Requesting a not to distant future Infantry model. Based loosely on the LAN Warrior Project, is what I'm thinking of. I've been using the Next War assault mech for the end game land unit in LoR; never really liked this though. For starters no one is really considering or designing mechs, whereas there are active projects currently in development for advanced infantry units. I've long wanted to swap out the assault mech with a LAN Warrior unit but keep the stats and what not pretty much the same, just graphically change the unit in the mod. However I can't find any decent models, other then the NAVY Seal, which unfortunately is tied up as a Special Forces ethnic variant. Also the theoretical infantry unit I'm looking for here is a little more advanced.

Optimally I'd like to see reactive camouflage (pseudo predator active cammo), high tech commo bits, and other current theoretical innovations in the model. The model needs to fit base BtS poly size, so no more then 1200 polys, in order to be usable in LoR, and also have a decent texture size, preferably 256, though 512 is acceptable. If anyone is interested in filling the request, I encourage you to run with it and add your own artistic innovations to the model. Also special bonus points if the model comes with some ethnic variants.

If anyone makes this it will definitely see use. I'd actually drop in in right away as someone recently created a Next War add on for LoR, and I really need to swap out the assault mech with a LAN Warrior in order to get this to work right.

If you count exo-skeletons in that development, then it's not right ;).

I don't know how advanced you wanted it, but there's this unit that looks pretty cool and advanced, although I'm not sure it was what you were looking for.

Spoiler :
demo2_OOM.jpg

Just a thought, I planned on using it for the future-era in my mod, but at a later stage of development.

And since I'm here I might as well bump this:

Nah, that looks like a spaceman. Also Zerver made some future infantry model that doesn't look quite right either. Basically I need something that looks like an advanced infantry unit you'd expect to see the US field in 25 years or so.

I would love to have a 1.65-inch (42 mm) light mountain gun, a 3-inch (76 mm) Hotchkiss gun, and a Hotchkiss Revolving Cannon, a revolving barrel machine gun invented in 1872. For our 1861 AD mod, that is going to span history from 1861-1920.

Also a gatling gun, would be nice to have as well. It would help us fit weapons technology from that of the civil war to world war one. Thank you.

Here is more info about Hotchkiss guns.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hotchkiss_gun
