Unit requests thread

I was wondering if anybody could fix these units for me. I can't get them to work. I am using them as a Hunnic Musketman and Cuirassier. Thanks in advance. :goodjob:

I only posted a pic of the Musketman, but the Cuirassier is also kinda screwed up.

Now which is the one you ment?

I am in real need of graphics for a land mine unit. Specifically, something similar to the 10 sided land mine displayed on post 23 at the following link:

I am modding the Papal States civ for someone, and for their unique unit I want to use the Swiss Guard. I looked through the unit database, and their was not one.
Could someone please make this for me?

I made a request for a whole set of units like that (Musketman, Cuirassier, Cannon, Grenadier, Rifleman, Cavalry etc.) but nobody bit on it. So I started working on them myself, I can't promise they'll be out very quickly, but here is what I have so far:

Clearly there is a lot of work left to do, and this is just one unit out of the set I plan on making, but eventually I will finish it.

EDIT: Anybody taking on those "hunnic" renaissance units I posted? I see there have been three DLs so far.

They look very good! probably better then the swissguard.zip i found in my junk room. I did not take a look now and have no idea from where i have it. Maybe it could help.
 
While I am reading tuts on how to do this myself, I was wondering if anyone had already made Confederate Cavalry? You know, grey uniforms instead of blue...

I'll try searching again but my eyes are starting to cross, lol.

I'm definitely still making it, but it won't be for some time. If I were you I'd just use his and when mine get released check then, if mine is better update your module, if his is better stick with it.
 
So I was trying to make an Arverni-style Arjos looking spearman unit (that was quite a long description there) to go along with the Celts in my upcoming mod. I thought I made the unit correctly, but apparently I did not because it is giving me the "gingerbread man" pose in-game:

I was wondering if anyone could take a look at the files here for me and help me to get it to work properly (the shield and stuff might need to be realigned too, I'm not sure).

If you want to take this up, here is some information:
  • It uses the Spearman.kfm animations.
  • There is a blend enclosed to make it easier.
  • FirstNifSwap.nif is the nif I originally used then swapped it onto the Arjos.nif file.

Your unit misses the NiSkinInstance file, it has no skeleton so to speak. You'll have join your mesh and the spearman one in Blender, remove all spearman verticles and put your mesh in their place. Further you'll have to weight your verticles to connect them to the bones. I think the whole process is pretty similar to the leaderheads' one.
 
Hey Capo, you need to make your Spearman model the child of the skeleton you have in Blender. It looks like you just forgot to attach it.
 
That's what I thought I did.

I'm confused, why is it that when I select an assigned bone it highlites? See attachment? (spine and calf)
I have no idea why making units is so difficult for me and LHs are so easy. :crazyeye:
