Unit requests thread

This is a general call, hopefully someone can answer it.

I attempted to make some BATAVII/CHATII units for use as ancient Dutch units in my mod. Didn't really work out well for me, if anyone wants to see if they are salvageable the units are still posted IIRC.

Well, I was hoping since I screwed it up so horribly that someone would be so kind as to make me a set of Batavii or Chatti units to use as the ancient Dutch. They can be based on my own units or on others. I also kinda need some ancient English units too, but I would either need ancient Celtic/Britanic units, Romano-Britanic units, or Anglo-Saxon units. Anything after that would be used for Medieval era and I already have a set for that. Any takers?

Realism Invictus has a few accurate Anglo Saxon units: Duguth (Spearman), Gebur (Skirmisher), Geoguth (Spearman), Thegn (Swordsman). I've used those to reskin a Horseman and Horse Archer (inaccurate obviously) and I found a matching Axeman somewhere else. Can all be found in HR if you need them.



Also, a :bump: - is anyone able to fix or teach me to fix the War Elephant unit I posted here?

You could use some of the units from the Ancient Mediterranean mod, I used some for my British civ.
 
Got a question for you guys, that always bothered me: SAM infantry - are they suppose to shoot rockets at air targets?
every way i tested them - vs each other, tanks, helicopters- they always use their Uzis.
the "tube" never gets used.

I was told they do shoot rockets when defending cities but I can't seem to reproduce that.
Could anyone make a unit edit that would make these guys to always shoot rockets?

Is anyone willing to create a new animal: an black or (dark)brown aurochs (vacant)? With animation?
I think the supply unit from Charlemagne could get used or just the resource vacant with black color.
 
Try to use the War-Elephant animatons you'll find in the Vanilla version of the unit in the art section. I believe they changed the anim from the vanilla one in BTS.

No difference, it happens with every compatible War Elephant animation I've tried.
 
I know that I had problems with elephants in past, when the .nif wasn't named exactly like the.nif of the normal warelephant. When I renamed them, it works. Perhaps this helps?
 
Please don't mind if I say somethin stupid, I am not skilled with Kfm-files.
Won't it be possible just to change the .kfm so it uses the "interception" animation for "ranged attacks"? For Melee combat the Uzi would remain unchanged in this case.
 
possibly but then wouldn't the missiles be shot into the air? Not sure if it would work properly though. WHen I did the Great Generals we just renamed animations and they were adopted into the kfm.
 
and obviously I have a request, can someone make a Dukes of Hazzards General Lee unit please???? I was thinking about making a Dukes of Hazzards Mod, you have to be either the Dukes, Boss Hogg, or the thugs. Any body know howto make a General Lee unit?
 
another thing I would like to ask: there is an early jet fighter in BTS WW2 scenario (the one wihout the sharp "nose" but rather with a "hole", but unfortunately it has no button. Could some one make a button for it, or point me to a similar looking early jet fighter with a button?

I'm trying to work on a "modding comeback" soon, not that this fact has anything to do with this request or anything but I figured it would at least show that I am going to do something with these units. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone would be willing to convert some of danrell's CiV units to Civ IV. Any takers?

Actually yes I can do that. Thought it would be a lot more complicated but I just converted one pretty easily. It comes skinned and I think even animated. It looks as if it is animated in the nif but I am sure it will need editing. Care to take this to my units thread so not to clog this up as I am very interested in converting these and making sure they are animated
 
I really don't even need the anims to be the same, just the units themselves. I know they are extremely similar to, and in many cases exactly the same as, some civ IV units that already exist. But not all of them, particularly some of the Egyptian and Roman ones. I just want them for a mod. Hopefully you can help me out. Thanks a lot.

I can, I will be converting all of the WW2 ones and releasing them since those are the ones I am interested in. If you can give me some particular ones that you want I can do those as well. The only probelm is that the ones you are interested in are people units which require animation otherwise they look really weird. Not sure how you do those units without animations:confused::confused:
