Unit requests thread

I'd like to see a very majestic and decorated looking Knight with a Sword. By all that I mean a very fancy helmet and colorful shield. Preferably mounted. I also like the Samurai requests suggested.

I'd like to use these for a custom civ I am creating as a Unique Unit. Can anyone suggest units that meet these requirements that may have already been created which I may not be aware of, and point me the way to them?

If they've not been created, I'd like to request something of the like. Think of the characters in The Knights of the Round Table legend. Or of the armor you've seen past Kings where in battle.
 
I'd like to request a eurasian axe- and swordman (ancient times), which I'd like to use for my Hungary mod. I know there are hungarian early units made by Zerver (that look too middle-east like) and avain (thats clothes looked too trendy / stylish / modish for my taste)*. I was looking for something furry and leathery (I guess this word doesn't exist, I mean wearing clothes with leather) with a european face. I tried to combine something out of parts from already existing units, but the only useful stuff I found were the mongol units that have the same problem like avains units and were too much armored**. The only thing I was able to do was a shield. The unitsgraphic can be the same for both axeman and swordman (maybe with a minor difference, for example in the texture) with different animation. The shield can be something generic, I would replace it by my own (well, I don't want to forbid you to make a shield, should be with Turul then, see Wikipedia for this). I already searched for pictures, but had problems to find some. However, if somebody is interested in this, please post here or send me a pm. I would try to find pictures again then.

* I really honour their work, but it is simply not my taste. Sorry. :rolleyes:
** People there are so much units... Planes, ships, modern landunits, medieval ones, also early units, but good eurasian units seem to be really rare. So maybe this 2 units would be useful for other mods / modders, too.

Do they have to actually "fly" in the animations? Or can they just have wings or the implied capability of flight? If the latter, there's a Middle Eastern man on a flying carpet in the Downloads Database, as well as an angel and fallen angel.

They would have to at least hover above ground and attack while hovering, rather than simply having wings. Think Superman.

Use Fighter or Gunship animations! ;)
 
Can U make one of those mega tanks from Metal Slug Sv 001?
I want the one with the rocket in its back and has 2 turrets.
Use a tank nif thing for the animations or the Next War Dreadnought one.

or how about one of those units from battalion wars (the Gamecube game), I would like to use one of the Tundran Empire units or the Western Frontier Units.
Look up google for BW game stuff.
just a idea I would like to see.
 
I am looking for different units... most of my request are postet above, but I am not shure if I ever requested a large railroad artillery... Can anyone offer so a unit?
 
So there's that Colonial Great General Model in Colonization (it works fine in Civ 4, all the animations, etc, I checked). Can someone add the great person glow to it? - I'm sure several people would like the colonial model to use in their mods.

If it's no problem and not that difficult could you also add the glow to the Elder Statesman and Expert Farmer Models? (I could use them for my Great People Mod)

I've tried NifViewer and Scope and though I've been told doing this is easy I never seem to be able to get it done. It would be a tremendous help.

Hey tsentom, do the leaderheads from Colonization work for Civ IV?

Because I wanted to use the Simon Bolivar leaderhead, would it be a problem to pack up that leaderhead and maybe a couple of Indian leaderheads too because I'm working on this mod and I would love to have them. I know this is the wrong thread for it though.

But pertinent to this discussion; I am pretty sure I saw a colonial-era great general in the downloads section here, so you should look into it. Its either in Industrial or Renaissance I am pretty sure, if you want to check and it looks pretty good too. I think it might be teamcolored also (the coat).

All the units and leaderheads from Colonization work fine in Civ4 as well as any building that doesn't have a a gloss file. I saw the unit you pointed out but I really want the specific one made for Colonization - it's only missing it's great person glow. The other two units in my pack I'd really like for my great persons mod.

I'll send you the leaderheads by the end of the week. (Are you able to download from filefront because it' easiest for me to just upload them there)
 
Yeah that's fine, thanks a lot man. Could you toss me all of the Indian LHs and then Simon Bolivar and maybe the Dutch ones too. That would be very awesome of you (I need leaderheads I can use for the Sioux and Iroquois) and I need a second Dutch leader. I wish I could help you out with the unit graphics but I just got started at this stuff, if I learn before you get it though I'll make it for you.

  1. Mammoth Tank from C&C Red Alert
  2. Metal Slug SV 001 tank from the Metal Slug series
  3. Western Frontier Grunts from Battalion Wars
  4. Level Armor used by the Rebellion Army in Metal Slug 3
  5. the O-1 Japanese Superheavy Tank (look up google for it)
  6. the Komet German Volkssturmfighter (look up google for it)
I hope you'll take 'em.
