Well, I think vampires do age, albeit slowly, and as they age, their powers increase...ie. they get stronger or faster, or show other powers younger vampires may not show.
Also, if vampires didnt age, how did the "truebloods" (i.e. vampires born a vampire) in the Blade series grow through puberty into adulthood?

Anne Rice's vampires never aged physically but became more powerful over time.
It depends on whose version of vampires you use, but living for a really long time is always an attribute vampires have.

It depends which werewolf myth. I've always preferred the savage and feral side of werewolves. But I more prefer the animist and naturalist themes.

I much prefer the feralness of werewolves. That said, it depends on the 'type'. Some are forced to change by the moon, and become monsters. Those suck. Er, bite.
