Vampires are more powerful but in all honest they all have there share of weaknesses.

Vampires are weak against:

Running water.
Cannot enter homes uninvited.
Natural sunlight.
Garlic.

And maybe something else i might be forgetting.

Werewolves are weak against:
Silver.

But vampires are more powerful because they are tougher to kill.

I despise werewolves less, soley because vampires have had a great deal more exposure in movies/tv and I'm sick to death of it.

For me the decision boils down to wolves vs bats, and wolves win for me. Werewolves imo are the better fighters: they can only be killed by silver, whilst vampires die to sunlight, garlic, holy water and a stake to the heart.

Give a vampire woman any day, though.

In the 1940's Universal movies, Werewolves do have superhuman strength and superhuman healing ability when in their human form. One of the themes of the Wolfman movies is that the Wolfman wants to die, but nothing can kill him, even in his human form (and when somebody kills him using silver, he is invariably ressurected through magic for the next movie).

That said, I would much rather be a vampire than a werewolf. Vampires are more cunning, can better blend into the human population, and are more dignified.

Well, I will weigh in here on this debate. Lets examine the strengths vs weaknesses.

Vampires:
- Nearly impervious to harm, healing quickly
- Super strong
- can shape change into a variety of forms
- can mentally control minions
- dont like garlic
- harmed by holy water/crucifix
- vulnerable to silver
- sunlight destroys them
- wooden stake through heart destroys them
- traditionally, cutting off their head destroyed them as well
- can choose to make others vampires by their bite or not

Werewolves:
- Heals damage quickly
- Super strong
- mobile during daylight in human form
- silver kills them
- bite makes other werewolves
- identified by a pentagram somewhere on their body
- not in control of their affliction, but subject to phases of the moon

So, it would appear to me that werewolves have fewer pros, but lesser cons. I was always under the belief that a werewolve would kill a vampire in a one off fight; but a vampire is a significantly higher threat to the populace at large.
