VoxPopuli Modpacks (Update: 4.16.1)

Hi, I have added the following modpack: 4.7.3_SSEMSU-NoEUI.zip
It should be even better than the 4.6.2 one but not really tested, so If you want to test it and report how it behaves it would be nice :), the 4.6.2 still the safe pick for now.

Another quick question: I tried the 4.7.3 mod pack, and when I tried to set up a dedicated server with a huge Communitas map, the server crashed right after turning 0 - but the standard-sized map seems okay-ish for a few turns at least. So does it mean we can proceed to play the standard-sized map (or large-sized, if it works)?

Hi, I have never used a server, so I can't help you :( 😔

BTW Interestingly enough, if only 1 player is connected to the server, the issue is gone. I am switching back to the in-game pitboss for now..

Just experimented with the non-dedicated-server and got the same result. Maybe I should really try smaller maps as a starter...

... can't wait to hear Agiwan's opinion on MP EUI CIV VP 4.8 ...
I did 180 turns without stopping with 0 resync and only two sporatic desyncs at turn 10 & 82. So far so good. But most problem start to appear at Industrial era... So we will see !

The modpack is available if you want, without 4 U/C for now.

Is there a reason the 4 U/C isn't added yet? I saw the title was updated for the 4.9 update (no longer partial), but that one is still the old version. Thanks!

When I installed the Modpacks for 4.9.1, the Communitas map doesn't appear in the list of possible maps (most other VP maps show up, China being another exception) -- am I doing something wrong there or do those not work when using modpack instead of mods?

EDIT: I referenced post 298, went back to post 1, copied the mapscript lua from the mod to the Steam assets/maps folder and it works perfectly. Of course this alters the actual game files, so tread carefully here, but this is for anyone else having this issue.

The "for VP" maps only show up because they replace the existing maps (same filename).

.... I am looking forward to hear from Agiwan that stable EUI MP VP 4+ exists .... in somedays, hopefully ....

Try the 4.9.1 version with EUI. The real problem of EUI is its memory consumption which make the game less stable during and after industria era.
For MP stability it's not perfect, but way better than 2 years ago. When you start to see a lot of desyncs messages in the chat: the host should hit the "Force resync" button to (maybe) prevent a crash.

It is a god bless to hear such a good news from you. Thanks.

I see the 4.6.2_ssemsu-noeui is stated as the recommended multiplayer modpack. Is this still the case? Or should I try the 4.9.1 version?

We just ran the 4.9.1 on LAN 2 humans 6 AI Standard Map Standard Speed. There were a few reloads, of course forced syncs, but we got all the way until Siam (of course) dinged the Industrial Era. Taking a break now, but so far it's been great. Oh, and we used the EUI as well along with 3/4 UC (the third link). Communitas Map (inserted as noted above for both players).

I can't speak for Industrial era forward yet, but the rest has been a lot of fun.
