m-117 is a bomb . Developed for USAF it is a middle ground between 500 and 1000 pounders , leaning more into volumetric efficiency to get more into bomb bays yet also more suitable for jet speeds when compared to WW ll standarts . Thousands and thousands were used , like millions even , USAF dropping its last in 1993 or whatever . One must check wikipedia and stuff . M-117 was eclipsed by the Douglas bomb shape thing .

oh , what's the first image or whatever from this thing in this thread . Poor Israelis so squeezed for weaponry (long after setting the standart for using guided weapons on every sortie) hanging just two M-117s under an F-16 so that America could start emergency supplies . Not twelve which the F-16 was proven in the 70s and thereabouts . Two with Israel somehow starving for everything and in need of supply . A lot of what bombs might have been very good bombs . It looks like some good sized sore thumb to insist on "defending" when it is clear the drama has to be in desert tan instead of glorious greens . The second the usual colour of ordnance "diverted" to Israel , the first being the colour on those lonely M-117s plucky Israeli servicewomen were loading on F-16s .

ı am an almost never practising Muslim , can count more than a few countries that do the stuff and had such a fun time back in 2014 or thereabouts after discovering Kurds had some people who defended female circumsion at a time the global media was busy talking about the brave warrior women . as for the odd exchange and stuff , Israel has indeed struck Lebanon and New Turkey very much prefers people to discuss how the grandkid of the PM warned him that he should not to Paris because it would be a gay propaganda . Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh assassinated in Iran

Hamas’s political chief Ismail Haniyeh has been assassinated in Iran’s capital, Tehran, according to a statement from the group that governs Gaza, which blamed Israel for his death.

Haniyeh and one of his bodyguards were killed after the building where they were staying was struck, the statement said, adding that Haniyeh was in Tehran to attend the inauguration ceremony of Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian, on Tuesday.

Al Jazeera’s Hani Mahmoud, who is in Deir el-Balah in Gaza, said the assassination was “significant” for the people of Gaza because he was the leader of negotiations that they hoped would lead to a ceasefire.

“Palestinians across Gaza and the West Bank also view Ismail Haniyeh as a moderate leader who is much more pragmatic compared to other leaders who head the military side of the movement,” Hani said. “He is very popular here. He grew up in a refugee camp, he represents the vast majority of the people who are the descendants of the refugee families who were displaced from the Palestinian territories in 1948.”

As political leader of Hamas, Haniyeh was also overseeing negotiations for a ceasefire. Killing the person you're (ostensibly) negotiating peace with is just plain idiocy.

If there was any sort of progress during these talks, maybe. But it has stalled. Maybe his replacement will be more willing to make some compromises. And if not, maybe HIS replacement...and on and on until Israel finds someone willing to accept their terms.

The Israeli government doesn't want a ceasefire, and will do everything to prevent one.

Neither does Hamas. That's the thing people need to understand, and why the peace talks stalled. Hamas wants Palestinians sacrificed to rally the rest of muslim countries against Israel.
