Like the peace theme, I'm not too overly fond of Germany's war theme. In fact, I hate the fact that it sounds even less like Ode to Joy than its peace theme. Definitely a minus for me.

Its Beethoven's 9th symphony, also know as "ode to joy. It has parts from the first movement because it sounds more menacing than the more famous choral part.

Voting a bit earlier today because I need to sleep early.

Like the Songhai peace theme, the war theme is a bit too repetitive for my tastes. Downvote for this one.

Venice doesn't sound like a Venetian song, nor does it sound very sinister compared to the other war themes in the game. However, it does sound like rallying your troops into war and leading them into victory, something which most of these war themes lack. Giving it a +1 for that distinction.

Venice- 15 - It sounds positive. That's good. But to the point when you don't realize it's a war theme at all. That's bad...especially when the civ below has the theme that sounds upbeat and "warlike" at the same time.
Zulu - 21 - Just got stomped in the game by Shaka. This theme was the only thing that kept me from feeling frustrated.

not voting right now, but i think the top war themes are Elizabeth, Pedro, Gajah Mada, Suleiman and Dido in some order. peace themes are Pocatello, Harun, Genghis, Theodora, and isabella.

really though there only about ten songs in the whole 86 leader soundtracks that aren't good. one of the reasons i want more dlc is for my playlist (i have one that has all leader tracks, scenario and main themes). about 100 awesome songs.

I actually fell in love with Portugal's theme when I won with them the first time. It fits so much as a victory theme. That aside, the first part makes me imagine the rising sun while my armies/navy looms on the horizon. It gets faster paced at around the 1:20 mark, in which part the guitar sounds like anguished notes. Can't really describe it so well, all I can say is that I enjoy this theme so much.

Meanwhile, I can't really figure out the Mayan theme. It sounds creepy like hell alright, but not one that I can enjoy properly.

Why is everyone hating on the Mayas ? I like that their war theme is very different and unnerving. You feel like you're being attacked by something you don't full understand, which is great because the Mayas are quite a unique civilization (well, similarites with the Aztecs, but the Mayas predate them).

The Celt war theme on the other hand, is pretty boring and, above all, not celtic at all. Sounds like a generic european war theme which is a shame, they could have done a lot better with it.
