Hello.
Sorry for my bed English (especially for grammar), but I need help. I'm from Russia and I with another man translated this great mod on Russian. We are don't understood - what mean word "Artificing" (it's technology from Anchient Times). Google translator can not translate it, English-Russian Dictionary not have this word. Can somebody explain: what mean this word? It's a noun or verb?
It's a verb, derived from the noun "artifice." (It seems to be an uncommon verb, since I didn't find it in the dictionary, either. English is a very flexible language, and new words are invented all the time.)
My English-Russian dictionary translates "artifice" as lovkoct', izobretenie, and viydumka. (I know very little Russian -- studied a little bit many years ago -- but still have the dictionary.)
One online English dictionary gives the following meanings for "artifice":
1. a clever expedient; ingenious stratagem
2. crafty or subtle deception
3. skill; cleverness
4. a skilfully contrived device
There's also a noun "artificer," which the same online English dictionary defines as follows:
1. a skilled craftsman
2. a clever or inventive designer
3. a serviceman trained in mechanics
So maybe you can derive a Russian verb from one of the Russian nouns? Or just use one of the Russian nouns, if you think the meaning is clear in Russian.
