What do women want?

No, its my expertise as someone who's darn post-graduate work was in the field of dating economics. For one project I interviewed darn near 500 females and 500 males on a variety of questions. All typical things that you do to ensure a good sample/responses etc were taken.

Let me get this straight:

You interviewed 500 women and actually believed them?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Wait... wait... let me straighten this out.

You interviewed 500 men and believed everything they told you?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Did you also ask them how many sexual partners they had? And did you multiply that number by 2 for women, and divide by 2 for men?

So no, I don't think your viewpoint is correct. I think its a rather jaded viewpoint because its easier for a man who seems obsessed, unsuccessful, etc, to blame their failure on some external circumstance (women just dont like sex) rather than some internal mechanism (the ability to attract)

First of all, I never said that women have a lower sex drive than men. In fact, I quite believe that they have a much higher sex drive than men. You're confusing me with Xanikk. And I don't have a problem attracting women. I've done it plenty of times. Again, you confuse me with Xanikk.

Second, you don't need to take my word for it. There is a truckload of literature from seduction gurus who have done field testing, some in hundreds if not thousands of encounters. And they came to similar conclusions, even though they were working independently. That's more scientific than your precious survey, where people will tell you what they think you want to hear. In my book, actions speak louder than words.

More scientfic? OK.

I guess these scientific seduction gurus probably made lot of money by saying things in their books what people like you want to hear.

Yes all women have high sex drive, don't know what they want and are terribly obscure about the whole relationship thing. ;)

@ Nanocyborgasm:

I'd made a similar point in reply to Jericho's post but unfortunately it appears to have been removed. Ahh well.

My point was that Jericho can't apply a survey of just 500 women to the other 3 Billion or so. I'm not convinced you could even apply it to the women in the area you did the study with any great reliance. The end result may appear reasonable, darn or otherwise, but that doesn't preclude someone from having an alternative view.

Yes, I can, depending on how I did it, and the methods used.

Its called statistical sampling, and pretty much everyone does it because its the best way to get data. I mean, geez, then my sample on Mormon social-interaction behavior on populations inter and intra Utah and their effects on Mormon - morbidity would be considered silly.

Again, you think its silly and can't be done. It's just statistics.

And Nancy, really, that's just flaming, and unnecessary. Let me know when you've presented your research findings to an audience of 500 phd'ed social scientists and economists and have your ideas stand up to their scrutiny. Until then, I'm going to believe their opinion of my work, not yours

Come on, Jericho lighten up. In any case 500 is quite a small sample.

My woman generally wants a good foot massage. Whatever her mood and whatever else she may want, the foot massage never fails.

Hmmm... foot massage or a good flogging, here. Depends on what day it is, and how energetic I'm feeling.

I'm with Jericho in at least one respect - I'd suggest that if you find that a woman is playing emotional games, kick her to the curb. I don't care if she's a cross between (pick your favorite from the Babe Thread) and (pick your favorite from Forbes' 100 Wealthiest Women in the World), I won't share a home or a bed with a woman I can't trust.

For most populations, a statistically random sample of N=100 is enough. Most go farther to 500 - 3000 at most. How else are political polls conducted.

That particular paper dispelled an urban myth, actually. Young people don't lose their religion in their college years so much as they stop signaling their religious identities because of, mainly, Akerlof's lemon and the principles derived therewithin.

Women are individuals so this question doesn't really have an answer. However just like men they make initial descisions shallowly becuase our looks and the quality of the clothes we dress in are all they have to work with before they talk to us. The way they act in a bar is no reflection of what they "want."

You actually have such a paper? What does it say? Other than that Utah is no place to live, even if especially if you are Mormon.

Yeah, I actually do. It's mainly in the context of dating choices and in birthrates though. Mormons are an excellent research demographic because theyre higly concentrated in a large area, but are not so distinguishable from everyday folk in places they are a minority in.

I've also got an article out entitled "Hardcore Sects." Wit I have.

Since you PM'd me I've replied in the same manner. Suffice to say I disagree that any study of 500 women sufficiently crosses the various cultural, financial, religious, national, sexual orientation, etc divides sufficiently for it to be applicable to "women".

Pardon me Jericho, but I am not clear on what the results were.

;) women like man to engage emotionally with them,

hi everyone I'm new here.

Hello
And here we have a problem. Women want what many men do not want to give. I don't want to engage emotionally with anyone. I'd really prefer not to. I want to engage properly with people.

Didn't say I was measuring every aspect. I was mainly concerned with religous signaling (both of the person and of their ideal mate's). Other variables I just used as controls.

Oh well, you can't convince everyone, but I'll take my degrees and journal articles over your doubts

We've already established your denseness in these matters in another thread.

Pardon me Jericho, but I am not clear on what the results were.

I was mainly concerned with debunking a myth that the drop in religious signaling was due to a systemic disinterest and decline of religious fervor during the young adult years (18-30). I proferred that religious signaling, like other signaling behaviors, would be influeced by supply factors and risk/information factors. =)
