What is so bad about school uniforms?

wearing your "normal" clothing provides more comfort is an other reason, making it easier to learn.

you dont have to spend $100 every 3-6 months. I could buy new clothes if i want however i dont need to. a person doesnt have to keep up with the latest fashion trends but if they want to spend $100 every few months then go ahead.

Disclaimer: I didn't read the thread.

Kids don't have too much freedom. At least this gives the kids a little bit of a sense of freedom. Heck, to a teenage kid, it is incentive to get a job to buy clotes they want for school. That is a big thing for teens here in the states. There are companies that manufacture clothing, if not all of them here that primarily target teens. And I really don't think it is clothes that are a problem just as much as I feel it is not video games or TVs fault either. It is almost always the supervision and interaction when discussing kids and young adults.

That is just why I don't like them. I don't know about the rest of the country. Some people support it, others don't - like many other things here.

Kids dont get taught diversity is ok anyway, because they will have at least 1 person that pushes the kids towards the much easier discriminate against the guy who refuses to eat meat, the girl who is Chinese and the guy who spends all his time on a computer.

Making students wear a school uniform is a reasonable solution to discrimination due to clothing worn.

Kids will always find some reason to pick on another kid. The kid who is fat is the kid who is fat regardless of his clothes. The kid who is chinese is chinese despite their clothes as well. Same with the computer guy. Give the kids the as many differences as possible and let them understand superficiality because it is in the world. People do judge you by how you dress in the real world, its not to early to teach them that as they are already going to begin to understand it by picking on the fat kid and so on. Kids are mean because they are ignorant. No offense kids, all of humanity is in the end anyways so get used to that too.
It is better to expose as many problems to them as we could but the important thing is to make sure that our teachers had some psychology courses under their belts to be better equipped to get the child to discuss it at the first sign of any problems and then you could help guide the child into understanding why descrimination is wrong. But... in a perfect world and all that jive.

School uniforms by themselves wont get you anywhere, the teachers, parents and students have to take other steps to ensure that there will be a reasonable improvement. Uniforms are part of the solution, not THE solution.

Well at least we agree upon that, even though I still think that uniforms aren't even a part of the solution.

Ok, you say "Ooh la la" to what I see is an "X"ed out box with Chinese characters, Which I would think would be about not hotlinking pictures or something. :hmm:.

I dislike school uniforms, and wouldn't want my kids (if I had any) to have to wear one. People are different, their clothes should be allowed to reflect that.

Furthermore, if you really think that uniforms are going to solve your social problems you are deluding yourself. Kids that bully/beat up others because of clothes will just go for other differences. maybe braces, spectacles, haircut, whatever. It's the violent kids that are the problem, not the clothes.

eh. the cute japanese schoolgirl uniform is just for paedophiles who haven't come to grips with it yet. I'm not a big fan of it.

What about the Catholic Schoolgirl uniform?

The uniforms are bad, they make me errrm excited.

The catholic schoolgirl uniform is fine because the idea is that behind it they are little dirty sluts that are horny as hell, which is hot.

The japanese schoolgirl thing is pure paedophile because the idea is that they squint their eyes and make some wierd laughing sounds and generally act like "innocent forbidden little girls" which is just pure paedophilia.

Damnit. Stingy site....

Anyway for the curious and disappointed it's just a normal Japanese summer uniform, but which happens to be translucent. :groucho:

Agreed in part. Some are like that, while some others are genuinely innocent, which makes them all that much more fun to corrupt.

That's because you have Western women trying to act the part (and failing). Of course it sucks. :p

Leave these things to their original people if you want to maintain the charm.

Notice that pic I posted. That particular Caucasian girl isn't squinting her eyes. Or flashing a "V" sign. Or doing anything to look "kawaii". She's being herself. Thus she looks good. :yup:

Aww, now I am upset. Stingy site indeed. BTW, should these pics be posted in the Babe Thread?

Urge to molest/rape....rising! UNGH! *collapses*

After skimming through the first three pages, I was going to complain about the lack of pictures. I'm happy to see Dann and Perfection remedied this horrible oversight. Keep up the good work!

Why do people think that school uniforms repress individuality? It is perfectly possible to cultivate different interests and be a different person whilst wearing clothes that look the same.
In fact, that's the benefit of school uniforms: they teach people to be individuals, rather than make shallow statements via their clothing.

School uniforms look smarter, eliminate differences in affluence, stop people being bullied for being poor (and unable to afford all the wonderful shoes that apprently divide schools in America).
So:
1. Less money is spent on school clothes when it's a uniform
2. There are fewer reasons for bullying.
3. Children are taught that individuality lies in their character, not their clothing.
4. There's no clothing to steal.

The parents who dislike uniform are the rich/doting ones who buy wonderful things to prove how loved and popular their child is, and baulk at the idea of their children not being able to show off.
