What is your political party CFCers? Republican or Democrat? Or do you consider yourself Moderate? Are you a member of a small Party, such as the Green Party? Or are you just tired of parties altogether, and call yourelf Independent?

Why do you support said party, or set of beliefs?

Ready, set, go!

Democrat.

Progressive.

I generally support Democrats, because I generally dislike Republicans.

-10 points for Americacentrism.

I consider myself a moderate social democrat with slightly liberal leanings.
I consider the US Democratic Party a far-right party barely within the mainstream and the Republicans unelectable right-wing extremists.

I am usually described as belonging to the Dachist (?) party, with tends to espouse state-sponsored Orthodachsy, more state funding for history education, corporatist meddling between management and union in the NBA so we can get the damn season going already, federal protections of citizens' Right to Meat, and USA #1.

-5 points for not actually answering the question :(

unless you think that "social democrat" and "Social Democrat" are the same thing I guess

Yeah, Social Democrat, SPD for lack of a better alternative.

Agreed, I wouldn't be able to vote for either of them...

I vote Green or sometimes strategically NDP or Liberal

I voted Green last time

party hasn't had a decent politician since Noske/Ebert
That's just the history nerd speaking, Brandt was overall a very good chancellor and Schmidt was more than OK.
Schroeder is an ass and I'm unimpressed with their current line-up, but I still see them as the party of the lesser evil.

nah, it's just purposeful hyperbole

Brandt was decent but showed some pretty shocking lack of judgment sometimes and was way too shaky on foreign policy

Republican.

Conservative.

You know the drill.

Well if I had to pick between Republican or Democrat I'd go Democrat. I am left on most issues. I think I consider myself an independent though.

I usually go Green, but voted NDP in the last election to try and oust the incumbent Tory (it didn't go well). I don't really think that the Greens are ready to run the country at all, but I think that I vote for them represents a general vote for more environmentally responsible governance. In terms of specific political issues, I waffle between Liberals and Conservatives, depending on the issue at hand. I don't think I'll ever end up voting Liberal though, the party itself and the string of milquetoast leaders just does nothing to inspire confidence.

Loyal Democrat.

Moderate-Liberal.

I'd call myself a conservative, but my ballot votes are quite varied. IIRC in the 2010 election, I think I voted for as many Democratic candidates as I did Republican.

Actually, someone (IIRC Shane) pegged me as a paleoconservative some time back and I rather liked that designation.

What's a paleoconservative?!
