What should the US response Be?

it's nice to see a lot of your are at the same level as the terrisist

a exact mirror image really..

your all acting exactly like them

you don't think [insert middle east country here] people don't grow up every day and see bombings in there own country? every day sense as far as they can remember

congrats.. now you've all had a TASTE of what it's like to be them

and what do you want to do?

bomb the hell out of innocent people from another country

and you wonder how anyone could possibly do this?

The problem with afghanistan etc is:

1. Their countries are ****, Afghanistan is already a parking lot...why else do people flee to australia and the Uk if they can from it???

2. Their lives are so **** they don't mind giving them up.

3. Islam gives the idea of an afterlife so good it would be stupid to want to live PLUS that they think dying for their religion gives them a VERY good afterlife.

My points on another forum: Why afghanistan is probably the center...add to it that muslims our one of the few people willing to give up their lives:

1. Afghanistan is led by the Taliban...ruthless Islamic extremists who house Osama Bin Laden and who are keen to impose death on non-islamic people.

2. They have NOTHING to lose and are hard to retaliate against as they have little reliance on the western world.

3. Yesterday they killed Masood by suicide bomb...he was the main opposition to them in Afghanistan...in Afghanistan there is no major opposition left...how can the Taliban be brought down in Afghanistan...what have they to fear of America?

I hope america uses death squads to purge without any hesitation the main leaders of the Islamic world suspected of having attacked or supported the attacks on America.

Sorry for any garbled statements...my response to the bombings was to get drunk and get enraged.

To those that support the Islamic extremists:

What good is there in these countries? Indoctrination, poverty, ignorance and imposation of their beliefs on others is all I see.

I hope most muslims will distance theselves from the attacks and give full support to destroy those that support the attacks.

If they respected life they wouldn't give it up for anything...anything worth dying for is doubly worth living for!

Fisheads: So all of a sudden, because people experience bad things in there own countries that provides some sort of justification for the deliberate slaughter of 10,000 people? How the **** does that work? The same people who bomb and kill in their own countries are the same people who killed ten of thousands of Americans today. So we should put up our hands and say, "Oh I see, this is how the rest of the world works, why don't we work like it too"? Hell no! The bottom line is: you kill, you will be killed.

EYE FOR A TOOTH. They killed 10,000; we'll kill 100,000 if that's what it takes. All I want to say to those responsible is:

FAGGOT BETTER RUN
dsosw.gif

If some country is in fact identified as the instigators of these acts, they desrve to be attacked. How can the US government not respond to a clear act of war? It would only be inviting more attacks.
Juize: did you ever come up with a reason why as you said, we attacked ourselves? Did you ever find any proof? Why don't you just admit you hate America because we are the most prosperous nation on Earth. And we didn't get that way by knuckling under to any crackpot or bomb throwing crazy. As Adam Smith said, the purpose of a government is to PROTECT ITS PEOPLE. The US is justified in making a violent, military response towards whoever attacked the US first.

killing 100,000 Innocent people who had nothing to do with the bombing will never bring them back,

so if someone kills some innocent person.. we should run right into where that guy lives and kill 20 people, and that some how makes it right?

killing 100,000 Innocent people is some how going to magicaly make the world "Safe"

if some crazy guy from fredericton NB, canada crosses the boarder and blows up some building in the states.. tommorow are they goign to send troops in and kill everyone in fredericton?

i feel safe already

how do you think the rest of the world will feel after you just killed 100,000 Innocent people in the middle east

how do you think the middle east will feel after you just killed these people..

and you better kill them all

because it seems after someone has lost there faimly due to say.. a bombing from some other country.. they tend not to like it.. and seeing how they have nothing left to live for... will seak revenge apon them..

so after you kill your 100,000

they'll come right back.. and kill more

and then you'll go right back and kill more

and they'll retaliate and kill more

and kill
and kill and kill..

what a wonderful cycle

kill them all why don't we?

kill millions of people for the actions of a few

Yea, Fishheads, hate breeds hate, just read a few of BlueMonday's posts to see that.

I wonder why designers of aircraft even ALLOW the passengers to have access to the flight cabin - it seems to me almost all hijackings would be thwarted by only allowing accesss to the cockpit from the OUTSIDE of the aircraft. Just have one medical person in the cockpit with the two pilots in case of emergency.

Excellent point Magnus. That should be mandatory on planes from now on :goodjob:

Hate breeds hate indeed, but something must be done. Punishing these barbarians via Trial is meaningless. They've made their point, and are prepared to die for it (if they already haven't). The free world needs to stand together and declare this kind of crap intolerable and take immediate and swift action against the countries which continue to produce these terrorists.

posterd by leowind:

While the desire for revenge is certainly understandable, to demand vengeance in attacking countries or bombing things only reduces us to the same level as those who would do such a horrific thing. Point of fact is that no one has (publicly) claimed responsibility as of yet, so who would you attack? We must keep our heads and not let this event draw us into actions we'll later regret. This is NOT to say that whatever organization responsible for this shouldn't be rounded up and locked away forever (or worse).

I agree with on that,

By duke o' york

To answer your question H Tower, nothing. The US should accept that this is a tragic act that has cost the lives of many innocent people but should not let this spur them on to the eradication of entire nations as you seem to suggest. Leowind is absolutely correct in his summation of the situation, but I fear that many Americans will not see things as level-headedly as he does and will demand recompense of whichever country the blame is attributed to. The first victims of the finger-pointing were the Palestinians, but I severely doubt that every single Palestinian was involved in a huge plot on this. It is something that was planned and carried out by a small group of extremists (for whichever cause we don't yet know) and so mass retaliation will just result in the extermination of even more innocents. I feel very concerned for all Muslims currently living in the US as they would seem to be the obvious target for the thoughtless retaliation of those who seek vengeance, whether a Muslim terrorist group was responsible or not. There is a very dangerous suspicion that works both ways between the US and Islam and this could provoke a very stupid and unnecessary holy war. Please don't let this be so.

and on that,

by Matrix:

To be honest I never had high thoughts about the US. They're ignorant when you look at the world environment and they think they're the rulers of the world.

and on that(a bit}.

Why had America to suppor Israël so strongly?
Do you realy wan't to call them youre friends?

Do you wan't retaliation? Put Sharon for the war-tribunal. (the inderect source of the problem}

we need to force every world leader to sit there ass down and we all need to work together..

not kill each other

of course that will never happen :_(

so i dunno.. we seem doomed anyway..

i fear we'll all lose a lot of freedom due to security.. which is both good and bad.. hopefully we will find the balance..

how do you deal with phycopathic people anyway?
the guy next door could walk into your office and kill everyone.. and no one will know untill it was too late.. how do you stop something like that?

speaking of people next door.. reminds me of that movie arlington road..

Agreed, Cunobelin Of Hippo, it is a different kind of war entirely when it is not the traditional state vs. state approach. However, I think any state that harbors and protects these criminals is committing an act of war and should be invaded and conquered. Justice needs to be done, but rationally - flying off the handle does no one any good.

PS - Spiff, your little friend is back

MY AMERICAN FRIENDS – we are all shocked by what has happened and we express our sorrow.
The problem is:
USA cannot just ‘blow up’ Afghanistan – Russians could not achieve much for years. We cannot say – all Islamic followers have to be killed.
I think USA should wake up and:
Stop some idiotic “star wars” project – no country is going to use ballistic missiles. Spend that money on your intelligence – Do you still have intelligence department?!? Over last few months 2 embassies, war ship have been attacked and what have you learnt?!? If you think you can fight terrorists the way USA have been doing that for years – bomb, air strike, bomb, air strike ….. you are wrong. The power is in our minds not muscles!!! Prevent not cure -that is the way to go!!!

(Quote, from Matrix)
-------------------------
To be honest I never had high thoughts about the US. They're ignorant when you look at the world environment and they think they're the rulers of the world.
-------------------------

Excuse me, Mr. Matrix, but we Americans are not ignorant. Sure, we have our faults (Every one does, EVEN YOU.), but we are certainly not an ignortant people. We do not like such comments, so please refrain from these stupid insults in the future. Thank you .

Ok, now that I said that, let us get to the topic:

I agree some-what with Leo and some-what with BM. While I do not think bombing anyone would help right now, I do believe that we should do whatever it takes to bring the ones responsible to justice. 10,000+ people did today, and I think that diserves some action. This was an act of war, it should be treated like one. (And I don't mean bombing the one responsible off the map, so knock that off Juize .)

I saw we should eradicate ALL known terrorist organizations. We should retaliate in such a swift & violent manner, that no one will ever even consider another COWARDLY attack the likes of which we saw to day. If we don't send such a message NOW, it will only get worse. And when we do lock onto somebody, we should kill them ALL. And by "ALL", I mean women, children, the elderly, parents, mothers, brothers, fathers, sitsers, aunts, uncles, the guy at the end of the block that no one ever talks to!EVERYONE who would condone or celebrate such an act. If any who think that I'm a bad, arrogant, ignorant, (or whatever other term you may choose to use) American...I can live with that. Anyone who would say such a thing just reinforces my theory that most of the rest of the world is that jealous of my great country anyway. Lastly, before all of you liberal minds out there critisize me for my opinion, think about you would truly react to a direct assault on your way of life.

If justice means killing a hundred thousand, then so be it. I'm very much unconcerned with the morality of peace. Violence is inevitable, death will come, justice will come. I'd prefer myself to fight, and for every generation to fight beyond me instead of turning the cheek of peace. Kill or be killed. Many of you seem only to feel sorry. I don't feel sorry, I only feel anger. Stop preaching to me the overlying morality of peace, there is no morality in war or terrorism. All countries are forged by violence, even those who pride themselves upon peace; now is not the time for soft words and tokens of peace to be exchanged. It's time to take back, to re-forge our -nay, MY- great land.
