What Video Games have you been playing II: Have you finished that backlog?

Dang Skyrim won't work on my dang rust bucket of a computer :/ So I've came back to Oblivion .... again. Downloaded the latest version of the Midas Magic mod .... over 300 new and unique spells ! New creatures ! A working astral gate to a new planes .... woohooo ! :O I've also downloaded a couple of furniture mods - can't belive I missed to dowload them before .... spent the entire saturday furnishing my magic laboratory

Oh and I saw a mudcrab .... nasty little creatures, the meat is good thou .... for poisons :D

Few tips on Alchemy :D

If You have at least 75 alchemy try : Harrada, Deadra Venin, Rat Meat, Crab Meat - 5 effects:

Paralyze, Silence , Damage : Health, Magicka, Fatigue :D ^^

for a good buff/combat potion try : Sheprherd's Pie, Beef, Tomatoe, Bread Loaf - 5 effects : Substantial shield, substantial fortify agility, detect life , dispel and restore fatigue - works best when combined with the elixir of exploration effects. (You can use any "shield" vegetable instead of a tomatoe, a potatoe is also good for this , just watch out for side effects ;) ) oh and buy beef whenever You're able to - it's quite scarce ;)

and a little something I call the "immunity potion" when fighting vampires or dangerous creatures that can paralyze You : Garlic, Ogre's theeth, Foxglove nectar and Alkanet Flower I think - 4 effects : Substantial fortify strength , resistance to disease, poison and paralyze.

There were more I've invented but I can't remember at the moment :D

Kvatch definitely stood out.

"Remember Kvatch ! That's our battle cry" ^^ Try "Kvatch Rebuild" mod - the city I like the best and I think the Kvatch coat of arms is the best one of all in Cyrodill ^^ Oh and You can fight mudcrabs in the Kvatch City Arena once it's rebuild :D

I've been playing Alpha Protocol and been enjoying it despite the atrocious level design, uninspired art direction, and poorly implemented skill sets. (Oh, you want to put a lot of points into hacking so the crap minigames aren't quite so bad? Lets not making hacking do anything useful to help you on the missions besides turning off security cameras, and put the control terminal behind the enemy so you have to fight your way through the enemies and cameras before turning the cameras off.) The story and conversations are interesting enough to drag you through the forgettable maps and missions. (Only a few characters -such as the Russian Mobster Brayko- and missions are all that memorable.)
Although the thing that annoys me the most is that the player character, Thorton, refers to himself as an agent, while the standard term in Western intelligence agencies is officer. Enemies have agents, we have officers.

So yeah I said I was going to start KOTOR a while ago but only got to it recently and it's been pretty fun, although you can certainly feel the age a bit. I did flip tables over the god dammed Sith Governor boss but other than that it's been an enjoyable experience.

Well that and
Spoiler :
the way Bastila almost makes you feel like you accomplished nothing because she's an arrogant when you meet her

Big Z totally makes up for her though, he's awesome

This may seem like an odd question, but how 'Star Wars-y' is KOTOR? I like RPGs a lot but whenever I think about picking up KOTOR the Star Wars background puts me off (I'm not a big fan of the Star Wars universe in general).

I actually don't know how a whole lot about Star Wars myself but that didn't really put me off and hasn't stopped me from enjoying it so far. Take from that what you will. I have no idea how strictly it adheres to the actual source material, though, I'll ask my friend and see if I can get back to you on that :p

Very, but it's unrelated to the movies.

It is related to the movies. It just happens to take place a loong time before the events in George Lucas' films.

Been playing though New Vegas again, and trying to not hate the legion so much this play through, its not going that well.

Also been playing way to much FTL, civ 4 and league of legends.

I've considered a Legion playthrough, but no, they're just too despicable and I just can't fight the NCR, fatally flawed though it is. I always nuke Dry Wells.

I can't put FTL down! Damn this advanced edition! Unlocking all the ships is rough.

What type of game is FTL exactly and what makes it so great? I keep hearing about it, but have never gotten around to looking it up.

Rogue-like. It's a ton of fun and frustrating as hell at the same time. I had to put it down a week or so ago because I was getting too angry at it :p

In the sense that it's set in the same universe, in the sense that TNG is related to Voyager.
Oh, I don't watch Star Trek. I'm a grown-up.

Does playing flash games constitute an instance of computer gaming? :mischief:

Says the guy who only watches Cartoon Network?

Hey, Adult Swim is on Cartoon Network. And some of those shows they have during the "kid hours" aren't exactly made for little kids either (Adventure Time and Regular Show come to mind).

Sure. But don't call Star Trek a kid's show when you watch Adventure Time and Regular Show.
