Fellow CFCers, I have been inspired by RRW's thread!

What war between two or more countries would you like to see?

A few rules, if I may:

Please be serious. Nothing like "Cthulistan vs. the Galactic Alliance" or whatever.

"I am anti-war" or something else pertaining to a dislike for war is not a valid option. Pretend you have NO say whatsoever in the war occurring, and therefore must pick a lesser evil. Otherwise, you probably shouldn't contribute to this thread if you don't have any ideas.

Other than that, have fun contributing to warmongering fantasies! :D

My personal choices:

Spoiler :

EU vs. Russia - USA may or may not be involved due to NATO, but this would be entertaining, if not devastating because of the nuclear option. This would also possibly allow the EU to begin it's path to military - rather than just cultural/economic - superpower status.

NATO/USA vs. Iran - I feel this is inevitable if Iran's government does not change. For all we know, Israel and the Arab states might even put aside their differences to prevent the rise of an Iranian nuclear power, joining the West in the great war. However, given Iran's connections with other powers, such as Russia, war could possibly lead to the scenario listed above. Iran could be the new Serbia/Poland.

NK vs. SK - This drama needs to end. The two Koreas need to be reunified, by force if necessary. My main concerns here would be what would keep the USA and China from fighting eachother, besides the obvious economic shocks to both. The end of NK - split with China and/or Russia if necessary - would also serve the same goal as deposing the Islamic Republic.

China vs. any of it's neighbors - China will have to pave the way for cosmopolitanism in East Asia. Pushing into Central Asia in particular would desireably increase tensions with Russia.

USA vs. Mexico - It is time to finish what the first war started. Mexico would also offer plenty of natural resources to be developed. Illegal immigration(from Mexico anyway) would also cease to exist by definition. Inevitably, I would desire this conflict to include the Caribbean and Central America. The only problem with military expansion is it is certainly costly in America's case, and so diplomatic/commercial takeover would probably be necessary...

General: An intra-European war(Not including Russia) - ....We could use more of these. :mischief:

General: First World vs. Third World - With the principles of MBI(Mutually Beneficial Imperialism) in mind, the First World must develop a new definition of foreign aid: invasion, occupation, annexation and ultimately development of the Third World. Not before the leaders of the First World have developed a true empathy for the occupied peoples, of course. Europe thus will have to lead the way here. The occupying powers will also need a sustainable model of development, involving green, renewable energy, and the setup of a true market system, rather than the one-sided system of the Old Imperialism.

In the case of NK/SK and USA/Iran, I think covert operations such as coups would be a wise move as well. However, to learn from history's mistakes, it is obvious any new regime supported by the opposition must be a move in the direction of liberal democracy. (No more despotic Shahs! They got us into this mess in the first place...)

In the case of the USA/Mexico, I wouldn't mind a diplomatic means of unification, either. I actually would prefer peaceful unification in all cases, actually. *gasp*

Before you post, also remember the main idea of the thread is to list YOUR picks, not debate mine. However, after you post your own picks of warfare, you can always choose to comment on mine. They should generally be predictable anyway, as I'm the resident Imperialist on the boards. :p

Have fun! :)

War between Israel and Iran would be interesting.

Germany v. Poland

Class war, proletarian victory. Any other war would involve the wholesale slaughter of conscious beings. Being a conscious form of life myself, I cannot, in all good conscience, "desire" any action which would cause suffering on such a massive scale.

...none?

What kind of stupid question is this? Life isn't a video game.

/b/ vs. The World.

Seriously though, Italy vs. all of Rome's former territories.
Nova Roma!

Liechtenstein, Vatican, Monaco, Andorra, San Marino, and Luxembourg vs Switzerland

My idea is for this thread to be closed. You might as well say "What genocide would you like to see?"

Except this is about war, not genocide.

Anyhoo... a war between America and Canada could prove to be interesting.

Russia v. North Korea

As I said before, life is not a video game. Advocating war between two nations when there is absolutely no genuine ethical justification to do so as a last resort is equivalent to wishing for the deaths of those involved.

Yes, but this isn't real life nor a video game; it is an internet forum.

I hear you, but so far I think things are going OK. Talking about nasty things is not necessarily about advocating them. War is interesting. This could be moved to the history forum.
