what would a cfc party be like?

Besides, this world or any world does not deserve a pasty Tolni attempting to sing Don't Fear The Reaper.

Would anyone play settlers of catan with me at the party? In some sort of a "chill room" ? Just for a bit? I don't want to spend the whole time socializing - I'm an introvert, so after a couple hours of mingling, I wouldn't mind sitting back and trading some sheep for some wood or something or at least play some nintendo. Then after we can go back to debating things and looking at maps and arguing about them or whatever.

I'm also curious if we'd have a dancefloor. Who here dances? Would that be weird if we had like a bunch of guys dancing and likely 0 girls, and it's not even a gay bar? That'd be weird, right? Okay, no dancefloor, NEVERMIND, but.. I'd definitely play some Catan if anyone's interested.

I've never actually had a chance to learn any of the Catan games. Yeah, definitely a gaming room (board games, not computer games). Throw in the original Civilization board game plus Eurorails (or any of the other variants - Iron Dragon is a hoot), and that's the kind of party I'd prefer.

As for dancing, I know some... as long as it's medieval. Dancing is something just about everyone in the SCA learns at some point, but this modern stuff is something I've never been able to figure out.

There are plenty of folk dances that are men-only. (suddenly I'm getting this vision of all the CFC guys performing the "L'Chiam" number from Fiddler on the Roof... :mischief:)

I wouldn't mind playing some Risk...I can't dance to save my life...

Can we do Cities & Knights?

I find it hard to believe that it would be that hard for each of us to bring a female guest. I can think of at least half a dozen women I know that would jump at the chance to see such a diverse crowd. They might treat it like a trip to the zoo, but they would appreciate the opportunity. So I see no reason to not have a dance floor.

If you play risk at a party it should be played as a tag team match. Teams of four or five where no one has to stay more than a handful of turns at a time works. Plus you can take bets on whether the "actual death" part comes from external or internal conflicts.

There could be a sort of speed dating game where you have to try and identify each poster you're partnered with by asking them yes or no questions.

Catan, or how bout Cosmic Encounter, Coup, or Avalon? (though Avalon can be really annoying sometimes) Dancing's fun with enough alcohol, but I can't imagine a scenario in which a CFC party has anyone dancing. Even if tims is right and everyone brings like 12 girls with them, it still wouldn't happen

Not all of us have sisters, you know...:mischief::mischief: Having said that, we could have one of those silly Dance Central-type games face off...

My sister is a lurker, with a long term relationship. She would definitely treat it like a trip to the zoo but I'd probably be hard pressed to keep her away if she heard about it.

So it's settled, we're playing board games and dancing Lord of the Dance.

I'm up for any expansions, but Risk usually takes too long and can lead to actual death..
Which is more likely to have serious consequences, Risk or Diplomacy?

Here, we see the illusive Snerk out from it's natural habitat in the Arctic. Not much is know about the Snerk, so such a sight is rare indeed. It has consumed large amounts of fermented barley juice, and is heavily under it's influence. It's large random waving of it's arms is it's ancient mating dance. For hours it will stand here trying to attract a female, but rarely will it succeed. Marvellous!

Oh yea, I would slip a roofie into Snerk's sippy sippy for some fun time.

Hah! Who said nobody was getting laid?! So it may not be consensual but hey. :cringe:
