What would you do if you became an overlord?

Untrusted - Used for mis-information and distracting the Hero.

Trusted - Background checked and ensured to be loyal by good pay, food, etc.

Totally trusted - Those loyal lieutenants given the title posthumously at their State Funeral.

So what if you took full advantage of the social mobility in this country and climbed from the ranks of minions(wage-slaves) to the ranks of the overlords(elite). How would your political and idealogical views change?

I assume they would change, but not by much. Presumably my personal circumstances would impact on my views as they would in any case, which may or may not work against any principles I may or may not have. The term 'champagne socialist' is meant to be an insult, I gather, but I don't particularly see well to do people having political sympathies and views that do not match their socio-economic status as being a bad thing.

As an extension of my goal to amass power, I'd work to attain followers.

1. Unlike most "villains" I wouldn't be an ass to my followers. I will respect them as much as they respect me, not kill them for certain mistakes, and reward them for success.

2. That said, treachery is everywhere. Make sure each and every underling is spied on by other underlings, so they don't turn out to be loyal to the opposition or, worse, another overlord.

3. Help the downtrodden. They make very good recruits - pay for their loved ones' needed operations when so many turn their backs on them, feed the starving, give gifts to the poor, remedy illness and injury... hospitals are as much a weapon as guns!

4. If I find enemies, I will deal with them quickly and without cumbersome, elaborate scheme. Execution will be used unless I can turn them.

5. If possible, harness any supernatural power I may possess. This will come in handy with punishment and reward alike. Mastery of both dark and light also opens up many doorways than just mastery of one.

6. Infiltrate the ranks of -or even create - my opposition, regardless of if I'm in power or seeking it. By creating a false foe, I can keep my followers and the general populace paralysed and supportive.

Sure they do, generally if they have a whole lot of stock in the company. A 7 or even 8 digit salary is peanuts compared to 10 or 11 digits of corporate ownership.

I would actually hang out where my troops are so they don't get killed by cloaked units, I would also watch for 'Sairs.

I would establish a law requiring all good looking, young women must be naked on weekends. I would establish a council in every jurisdiction in the country who would screen the local population of young women in the country and determine whether they are good looking or not.

Those who are deemed good looking and break the law will have to be naked on weekdays instead. If they break that law they will have to be naked 7 days a week.

Of course this law only applies when the weather is warm. I am not THAT cruel of an overlord.
