'Russia. One of the largest nations in history. I think it's third, after the USSR and the mongol empire. '

No - the British Empire was larger than Russia (not sure about whether it was larger than the USSR though)

Like th old saying goes, the Sun shall never set on the British Empire, they said this because that fact that the Empire was so big no matter if it was nightime there would probably be still be daylight in other parts of the empire, ahh those wacky brits....

Russia is a country so large that when the suns sets in the west of the country, it rises in the east. Canada is gigantic too, but not that much.

It depends on criteria:

Population = China
Physical size = USSR
GDP = USA
Percentage of people who end or begin a sentence with 'eh' = Canada

Speaking of size, which is larger the N.A.T.O. or the C.I.S.?

Australia is quite clearly the largest nation in the world, how many other nations take up a whole continent?

Well, ok, it may be the smallest continent in the world, but its still a whole continent...

But we are probably the most underpopulated nation in the world, for our size that is, with only 19,700,001 people and 7 692 024 sqr. Km.s to put them in. So if you dont mind your country being run by a native animal, then come on over, we got plenty of room :goodjob:

How was my shameless imigrant drive?

Honestly, someone could make the argument that the United States is the largest country in the universe, seeing as how the United States planted that flag and plaque on the MOON. Is the moon a colony of the United States? :p

A) Canada, The U.S., mainland Europe, and alot of other places drive on the right side. So, I can't live in Australia. I'll get confused.
:(
B) Do not forget the other nations near yours. It is the same continent.
;)

And a saying that I heard was 'The sun doesn't set on the British Empire....because God doesn't trust her alone in the dark!' :lol:

I voted Russia.

Hehe. Even if you don't believe in Him you have to admit He's pretty smart ;)

And concerning the confusion between the sizes of China and the US, I have heard some say that China is bigger and some say the US is bigger. The difference is whether you agree with China's land claims including Taiwan and several areas of disputed land with India. If you include these, China is bigger, if you don't, the US is bigger. Basically they are about the same.

What does the plaque say? I suspect that might give you the answer ...

A problem with this poll is that it asks you to vote for the biggest country but it doesn't specify that it should be the largest according to the amount of land. So some people may have voted for other countries, because they feel they are bigger in other aspects...

Are you sure? I know the British controlled a lot of areas but I didn't know they summed up into so much. Where do you get your stats from?
