I'm still connected to razorvine whenever I'm online and I now I'm on #Nesdnd, if that counts.

Honestly, you unbanned people too quickly who were banned for serious reasons. Might just be that you didn't have a full linguistic grasp of what was going on, that was always my take on it.
Someone says "China sucks" result: person gets insulted then banned anyone unbanning him gets banned.
Kraz says "XYZ person sucks" and then insults that person to be stupid, idiot and whatever else. Result: nothing happens, unless that person disagrees with his opinion. If he does then he gets banned for not obeying rules (what :):):):):):) rules ?)

So yes, it's my understanding of fairness, that is the problem here. I don't personally think, that anyone (other than pasi) deserves to be banned for longer than 4 hours. Unless that person starts same topic again when he rejoins. I tried to be fair and understanding, I did not see that much of that behviour amongst other moderators (counting out Dachs, NK and few others, whom I have some respect for). True, I may have been too kind, but there were plenty of people who were exact opposite of me and all I did was try to make this as nice place as CFC is...

#nes is not CFC, we have different rules and operate in a different way.
Then why did we advertise it as chatroom for NESers? Chatroom for *certain* NESers would have been more suitable and would not have confused me into understanding that this is a friendly chatroom that keeps friendly atmosphere in greate respect, just like CFC does. Besides that, original #Nes was for every NESer, despite of what their beliefs or usernames were. If this is not a continuation of original #NES, then sorry, I was seriously mistaken.

just to demonstrate, here's me doing Youngstown to Zurich:

Banning is generally done in a tongue and cheek manner, it's kind of a joke. Even I get banned sometimes.

No, not really. Kicking is done in a tongue-in-cheek manner, and happens all the time, but banning is something else entirely (one would wonder, if it was so jocular, why Northen got bashed for unbanning people so readily).

Northen's spot-on with a lot (if not all) of his criticisms.

Not to say I don't find the place useful (some of the people there can only really be reached there), but it has some serious problems.

Niggles is just cut that I kicked him for supporting Imperial(ist) Japan.

I try to use it to chat to other NESers about orders.. usually in a private chat.
It is obviously a recurring theme of kraz banning me because he can.
Tiresome and childish, nothing more.

#nevermind...

I should clarify that I don't find it a bad place, per se. I just think kickbanning is a little overused, especially of late. Keep in mind that non-regulars to the channel won't exactly find this as hilarious as people who frequent it do.

I agree with what Thlayli has said here.

In my opinion, NESers who do not behave in an antagonistic manner do not generally get banned, and NESers should avoid sticking their heads above the parapet when they actually have diplo to get done on #nes.

#nevermind...

The problem it seems is that many see the mods as being antagonistic themselves with no check.

I simply never got much out of being on #NES and so rarely am there unless to speak with a specific person about a specific NES issue.

EDIT - Or perhaps it is the feeling that the rules are not clearly defined and that they do not seem to apply equally to all. But as I said I am rarely on so I cannot comment if this is true or simply perception.

Kraz is abusive and should never have had ops in the first place, however if Lighty and Dachs don't remove Kraz as ops/founder then I don't really care. This has happened before and Lighty has had Kraz's ops/founder removed because he was going crazy. If comes to that point then yes they should do it, but as of now, Kraz is just his regular douche bag self, which I'm comfortable with.

By the way, here's the original city list from Symphony, jal et al.

Was this from one of his thread where he was trying to get accurate co-ordinates for all major cities?

Getting the coordinates wasn't the issue; figuring out which cities mattered and transposing same onto a map accurately was.

It isn't about clarity of rules. Rules exist only when it suits the needs of the banner and often times changes depending on the person in question.
