While We Wait: The Next Generation

we all like Daft too much to say that he's more of an iron-fisted dictator than Symphony D., no?

That has been his plan all along, I think. ;)

But honestly, Daft didn't really take away much player freedom either, outside of BTs, and even then, it's more that everybody else (myself included!) has been giving players too much control over those. If you want to make a justified complaint about limitations on player freedom, wait until IANES (which will not be any time soon, by the way). :p

Just so that it's all clear: The judgment was made from the rules and the rules alone, with the criteria of "freedom" being "what is their official stance on rules" and lots of arbitrary arbitration!

Well, that's the thing. Rules don't usually limit player freedom all that much. It's all up to the moderator himself, and speaking from historical experience oppression actually works way better when there are no annoying rules; rules are for the legal authorities and other such pansies; REAL tyrants don't need no stinkin' rules and rule through terror and charisma alone!

True Story NESes are equally oriented towards both the tyrannical and the anarchic extremes, it's just that it usually ends up going to the latter and failing without a strong hand to enforce the continuity and the immersion.

Until then, NES2 VII?

Carmen.. What were you doing in London? I was there yest an was free!

Apparently I'm back folks.

I apologize if this has been brought up, but has anyone noticed, on the Civfanatic's wiki, all the other forum games get a mention except us. (Even the lazy-NESing does!). :(

Hahaha, that article has a certain NESer in it. Chandrasekhar: he is on Wikipedia under a pseudonym. Anyway, yes, I have noticed that. Somebody might want to change it, but don't go overboard like it used to be, when NESing took up most of the CFC wiki article.

I never read the CFC wiki, sadly for you, luckily for me. :p

Dachs, I just checked the link in your sig. Dude, that's like the complete opposite of the kind of music I hear. I actually thought your taste was more... Well, you know, that you liked more beautiful music.

On a more NESing style topic,

What? No controversy? (FWIW, I totally agree.)

That is not the only kind of music I like, dude. You should already know that through various other references I've made on the forums, or looking through the OT "songs you're listening to" threads, or my previous sig, or something. Definitely pretty obvious that I don't just listen to Michelle Branch.

And I also would like to remind you that tastes are subjective. :)

It's rather ironic. I remember my sister listening to Michelle Branch all those years ago. I did too, to a certain extent. How time flies...

Nope, thomas.berubeg editted in that mention, I think. I recall thinking that it was a bit overboard to include a note on my little forum game on Wikipedia. :p
Eh? I was just saying that your CFC account name - a pseudonym - is in the Wikipedia article. Sure, I think it's a little overboard too, but hell, you're famous! :p

And I also would like to remind you that tastes are subjective. :)

I didn't say your music wasn't good, only that music with a higher level of beauty exists - it is just a completely different design.

And for the reference, yes, tastes are subjective. But quality isn't. :p True listeners can distinguish between technical perfection (Which is also present in good punk fx) and something that's just thrown together.

... How many people here keep and use multiple accounts in CFC? SHOW YOURSELVES, HEATHEN CRIMINALS.

I don't.

Keeping this on topic, I wanna join NEB1. The design is unique and beautiful. Should I do so, or should I wait for him to start NEB2?

I kind of want to, mostly to play in my own NES. Not for nefarious purposes, more because I really miss playing in a random map fresh start... :(
