Moderator Action: Are we deteriorating once again?
Don't go there.

That'd be the Second Law of Thermodynamics, simplified.Deterioration is inevitable, considering the laws of physics which shows that everything moves from order to chaos.
@Abaddon, I request that when you recruit new people using your magic skills, you also let them know that other NESes exist![]()
Seriously man, you have a knack for getting people to join NESes. Although, I haven't really seen anyone you've introduced here stay too long.
Chaos is order insofar as the individual actions of millions fulfill at some level a certain kind of group logic.
I didn't invite or adverise beyond my signature!
Would have been cool but yea...THE modern NES is probably the holy grail of modding jobs. The bad kind of holy grail?

You and I will meet again
When we're least expecting it
One day in some far off place
I will recognize your face
I won't say goodbye my friend
For you and I will meet again

Ironic. I hereby retire from any NES that I am active in, and from any NES that I am still considered a part of. Apologies to Dreadnought for such a short and unnoticeable foray. Apologies to Bombshoo for joining and leaving in such a record time. Apologies to Daftpanzer for such horribly spelled orders and annoying tendencies. Apologies to North King for the ramblings, misspellings, and meddling. Apologies to Lord_Iggy for all of the above for such an extended time. Finally apologies to all those others, mods and players, who I saddened during my stay.
In my three year stay hear I have yet to feel such a complete loss for words. If you would, I would ask that you forgive my fallacies this one time and ignore any mistake you spot in this mirage. I can honestly say that this day has came upon me like a thief, neither foreseen nor expected. Very close to three years ago I stumbled across this small, wizened forum in a mood of murk. I complained, I fussed, I whined, I fretted; yet I remained. Thank you for such an unconstrained welcome; something that I more often than not failed to pass along. In respect of such, I could not leave without a word.
At this time it has become apparent to me that my time will be better adjusted elsewhere, and I can no longer commit to maintaining my presence upon this forum. I leave not with anger nor with disappointment; I leave not on a sour note. I leave with nothing but a pang of regret and a longing for a surpassing sojourn. In this end, I can truly leave you with nothing but heartfelt thanks for all that has been given. Thank you for your time, your work, your dedication, and your fervor in maintaining the standards of this forum. I might return some day in the future, but for now I must give a fond farewell.
Until the beginning of the Second Act, I wish you all the best.
Thank you.
Ciao e buona notte
I think the NES from birth of man to modern times is the holy grail. At least, it's my main objective, so if it's not the holy grail, it's my white whale.
I'm working on the holy grail as we speak!
... So am I, what's your point? The object is not to get there, do or die, and screw how we get there. In fact, this is very much more about the journey than the destination.
