While We Wait: The Next Generation

Moderator Action: Are we deteriorating once again? :shake: Don't go there.

Deterioration is inevitable, considering the laws of physics which shows that everything moves from order to chaos.

This can also explain how a girlfriend is happy to massage your feet in the begining of the relationship, but then 4 and a half years into it, they're like "o.O Excuse me?" when you ask them to.

That'd be the Second Law of Thermodynamics, simplified.

Chaos is order insofar as the individual actions of millions fulfill at some level a certain kind of group logic.

@Abaddon, I request that when you recruit new people using your magic skills, you also let them know that other NESes exist :)

Seriously man, you have a knack for getting people to join NESes. Although, I haven't really seen anyone you've introduced here stay too long.

I didn't invite or adverise beyond my signature!

I blame their lack of longevity on myself. My NES died in the past before they are "hooked in" and playing other NES.

All order is an illusion, a mask of the primordial chaos that is our universe.

Until we meet again, ~Darkening~. Everyone comes back eventually.

Fair enough. You did advertise, though. :p

Would have been cool but yea...THE modern NES is probably the holy grail of modding jobs. The bad kind of holy grail?

the bad kind

NESers, I need your help, and your votes. Please, look at my thread, pre-FANES, it's a pre-thread where I'm letteing players to decide the NES they want to play.

Stop pandering to the masses and go with something you like, compromising only when there aren't enough players to float your boat [/misuse]!

You have enough people expressing interest in either of your NES ideas.

Get on with running it, and within a few updates more will join. Many people are not willing to commit to a newbie NESer without seeing some proof first.

I think the NES from birth of man to modern times is the holy grail. At least, it's my main objective, so if it's not the holy grail, it's my white whale.

You and I will meet again
When we're least expecting it
One day in some far off place
I will recognize your face
I won't say goodbye my friend
For you and I will meet again
~Tom Petty

Ironic. I hereby retire from any NES that I am active in, and from any NES that I am still considered a part of. Apologies to Dreadnought for such a short and unnoticeable foray. Apologies to Bombshoo for joining and leaving in such a record time. Apologies to Daftpanzer for such horribly spelled orders and annoying tendencies. Apologies to North King for the ramblings, misspellings, and meddling. Apologies to Lord_Iggy for all of the above for such an extended time. Finally apologies to all those others, mods and players, who I saddened during my stay.

In my three year stay hear I have yet to feel such a complete loss for words. If you would, I would ask that you forgive my fallacies this one time and ignore any mistake you spot in this mirage. I can honestly say that this day has came upon me like a thief, neither foreseen nor expected. Very close to three years ago I stumbled across this small, wizened forum in a mood of murk. I complained, I fussed, I whined, I fretted; yet I remained. Thank you for such an unconstrained welcome; something that I more often than not failed to pass along. In respect of such, I could not leave without a word.

At this time it has become apparent to me that my time will be better adjusted elsewhere, and I can no longer commit to maintaining my presence upon this forum. I leave not with anger nor with disappointment; I leave not on a sour note. I leave with nothing but a pang of regret and a longing for a surpassing sojourn. In this end, I can truly leave you with nothing but heartfelt thanks for all that has been given. Thank you for your time, your work, your dedication, and your fervor in maintaining the standards of this forum. I might return some day in the future, but for now I must give a fond farewell.

Until the beginning of the Second Act, I wish you all the best.
Thank you.

Ciao e buona notte

May the road rise to meet you
May the wind be always at your back
The sun shine warm upon your face
The rains fall soft upon your fields
And until we meet again
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.

Good luck, friend.

Good point. I think some would say RTOR2 accomplished that feet, but I think EQ cheated :p So I will correct myself, the NES from birth of man to modern times is the holy grail.

I'm working on the holy grail as we speak!

... So am I, what's your point? The object is not to get there, do or die, and screw how we get there. In fact, this is very much more about the journey than the destination.
