lol id like your post if it were on facebook

That would be cool, though better if you adapted it more for NESing (added more mechanics and such).

Anyone interested in playing a relatively simple game of king of the hill? Cause that's what's going on here.

Join before the good spots are taken!

How's that work Eltain?

Why, that would be detailed here, the first page of my NES thread! We are entering phase 2, so check out the appropriate spot. [edit: More info is on this page, the most recent update and intermediary between phase 1 and phase 1.]

The entire "city" (then counting everything on the map as one "city" for simplicity I guess) has been hit by a massive tsunami. Therefore, new factions will arise form the desolation, rebuild, kill eachother, become warlords, eventually ruling the entire city, at which point the minigame ends.

What results from this will be canon history for this particular city in my soon-to-be NES, This world is Yours! A world entirely planned by the players for FUN.

Talons: I am actually curious if people would find this post helpful, which is also on the front page of my thread. It's essentially an encylopedia-type thing on all the races and whatnot and the world as a whole in one post. Most of it is not necessary; I'd suggest skimming it and reading in-depth any race you'd like to play. EDIT: The encylopedia is nos up to date on what I have written, but I am going to post more and link the final 2 updates in a few. Also, I removed one of the continents due to textual constraints, but will link it on the front page in a few.

As yet, there are no 'factions' to choose from, though give me an idea of what you'd like to play and I'll have a good situation for you to ponder out. I have the official update 0 80% written and just need for this mini-game to finish. I have a map of the entire world somewhere around here, but in the meantime I had a link handie to the final indev from the pre-NES here.

If you have an hour or so of bored/otherwise free time, all of the pre-NES updates and minigame updates (and player-written stories) are listed on the front page as well. In the first post, near the bottom, in the spoiler "updates".

If you'd still like an idiot's write up I can do that though. I'd be willing to go quite a ways (short of changing the game in ways I don't like) to get people interested in building my little fantasy world with me.

In other news, I got a pedometer today. I am up to 8000 steps.

Your game up to now talks mostly of Swiech and Issith (unless I'm woefully ignorant), but the Swiech only merited a picture in the encyclopedia, and the Issith a single passing mention. My understanding is... impeded.

The picture in the encyclopedia of Barasia isn't there, either.

I think I have a decent handle on the story of the pregame - an accelerated history-of-the-area with players placing Issith and Swiech diggings. Now the punch-up begins :D

How am I doing?

It is a world-building game, and they are currently building that one spot, since it was an interesting area with three species living in the same spot.

Fair, though from what Eltain posted it sounded like we were about to undergo a genre shift. It is quite interesting - though I question the logic of having the immigrant centre on the seventh level, so far from any entrance. I would very much like to see what happens.

Good so far, however..

I have yet to write up the Swiech, that is unfortunate, but you are correct. The Issith write-up is actually in Shakar because that is where their race originated from (go figure). That's linked on the front page now, by the way.

Swiech.. Swiech. Okay. At this point in the minigame (*300 years before the NES begins), Swiech are known to be rat-people of questionable repute, who would trade their grandma for more shinies. This is of course an exaggerated generalization, but it is how people view them. Most Swiech worship the Wengi, as do much of south-eastern Arda (the northeastern continent mentioned in the pre-NES, but not so much the minigame we're currently playing). The Wengi are endless, nameless gods, which are worshipped through ritualistic hoarding; be this of food, knick-knacks, objects shiny or colorful, often of value, much like in the warrens and nests of RL packrats. They live in Warrens (town? village?) which are ramshackle underground cities, often in mud or clay, but in coastal areas rock-hewn homes are preferable, due to less flooding. If a Swiech dies in a collapse, it is his own fault for living there. Think ancient medieval cities, built with no plan, but 10x worse.

I have yet to determine/extract a lot of information from nutranurse about familial matters, but we will cover that when we get there.

Link to the entire world map [for lurkers, yes, more cities have been added]. Circled in red is roughly where our map covers, more or less. [in east Barasia, the central snakey continent] As Gem Hound said, it is one tiiny corner of our world. The minigame we're playing at the moment is designed just to flesh out our world more, and to have fun in our world setting.

EDIT: You are a bit confused. Basement 7 is -literally- right below one of the largest docks in the entire region. The red square represent a stair or some sort of access between the two levels.

I would consider Arda north of Noye (that new trading village smack dab in the center there) your baby. I still do not appreciate did not appreciate you naming part of it Eltainia though :P

No, what I am saying is.. The portion of Arda, north of Noye, is your baby.

NOW WHO'S MIXING THINGS UP?!
