World Wonder Elimination Thread

Yeah I'm also a little surprised at some of the wonders already eliminated. Stonehenge and Great Library are both pretty good IMO.

Alhambra - 20 + 1 = 21 (Underrated wonder that provides more benefit than just the extra military policy and generally not too difficult to build even on high difficulty)

Oracle - 18
Oxford University - 21
Petra - 17 - 3 = 14 (I think the idea is rank wonders based on their impact not how aesthetically pleasing or satisfying it is to convert bad dirt into decent tiles - this wonder is maybe useful in 1 game out of 10 and even then it's still limited to a single city, plus the AI goes for it all the time so it's not easy to build)

I was going to uprate the Mausoleum, and noticed that it had disappeared back on post 73, so I added it back in.

Kilwa Kisiwani - 22
Kotoku-in - 8 (11 - 3) Warrior Monks are pretty useless. (Someone tell me if you have found a real use for them.)
Mahabodhi Temple - 7
Mausoleum at Halicarnassus - 24 (23 + 1) The extra charge for Great Engineers is amazing. The extra charge for Great Admirals is also useful, since you can get the benefits of retiring, and still have the admiral for increased strength and movement.

The problem with the Taj Mahal is that while it can be very powerful, it can also give you a lot of overflow, therefore making your next golden age harder to get.

Forbidden City - 28 (27 + 1) +1 wild card policy is very good. This wonder = a civ ability (Greece). And it comes somewhat early. This and Big Ben are the only wonders I always try to have. Sometimes I'd quite the game if I don't get it

Taj Mahal - 9
Temple of Artemis - 25
Terracotta Army - 21
Venetian Arsenal - 23

Alhambra - 21 +1 =22 it's a good wonder , that I confess building for fun mainly. I'm just so in love with more policies. Upping this one because I think it's gonna need more help raising than the superb forbidden city.

Taj Mahal - 6 = 9 - 3, this one is really really bad; will likely change your era for the better in one era out of 15

Eiffel Tower - 23
Estadio do Maracaña - 15
Forbidden City - 28
Great Lighthouse - 17
Great Zimbabwe - 19 (18 + 1) If build appropriately, this will net you +8 or +10 gold per trade route. That's almost certainly better than the bonus you would have gotten from any of the policy slot wonders.
Hagia Sophia - 17
Hanging Gardens - 14
Hermitage - 14
Huey Teocalli - 22

Oxford University - 21
Petra - 14
Potala Palace - 20
Pyramids - 25
Ruhr Valley - 14
St. Basil’s Cathedral - 20
Sydney Opera House - 2 (5 - 3) At its best, this will net you a couple of great works (after a non-trivial delay), already an incredibly underwhelming reward for an end game wonder. More likely though, you were going to earn or not earn the last Great Musicians with or without it (the same problem as Taj Mahal). And unlike any of the other wonders, this one comes with a very real risk that the rewards will be gone by the time you finish building it.

Cristo Redentor - 21
Eiffel Tower - 23
Estadio do Maracaña - 12 (15-3) Much like the Sydney Opera House, the Estadio de Neverbuildo comes too late to impact the game.
Forbidden City - 29 (28+1) Love the versatility and the feeling my empire just got more powerful upon completion. The fact it can be built late BC/early AD means it comes early enough for long lasting impact. Can be built on Deity no sweat. Another top 5 IMO.

-CORRECTED-

Reading these makes me wonder if making the late game wonders much more overpowered could change how boring the late game can get. This way the AI could try to build a particular wonder to counteract the runaway human player.
