1) The reason he was dropped. The CPAC drew the line not at equating transgender people with sociopaths, or orchestrating racist abuse at a comedian; but of an edgelord comment made in poor taste that appeared to intentionally blur the lines and take advantage of the differences between UK and US age of consent. In other words, hate and racism? Fine. Vague comment about pedophilia? GET HIM OUT OF HERE.
TBH, it's not that surprising since this took place in a society where the majority of people openly advocate for executing anyone with a sexual attraction to children, or at the very least forced castration through whatever means necessary. Couple that with the new modern tendency to cling onto a specific rhetoric and build an entire perspective around it and you've got a scenario where Milo losing his book deal and his contract with Breitbart is considered merciful.
