YnAMP - Larger Map, TSL, Continents++ (beta)

YnAMP - Larger Map, TSL, Continents++ (beta) 1.0.7

yes, could play with all civs with the classic mod. mod may require an update, not sure if I'll still be around then.

Do you know if there's a mod that "forces" the civs choosen at each age?
For example I would like on Earth TSL with the appropriate mods that some AI civ does:
[Ada Lovelace] Saxons > British > Great Britain
or
[Napoleon] Gauls > Normans > French
If not, what do you think would be the way to do it? Could we like increase the score of those civs for a given leader so much that they would 100% pick those civs at age transition?

It's technically possible, don't know if there is one, I think the easier way would be to remove all other choices from the DB.

I'd prefer a "unlock by owned territory" mod, but I don't know if that one is possible using modifiers alone, I think you'd need a civ7 equivalent of civ6's "REQUIREMENT_PLOT_PROPERTY_MATCHES".

Maybe by modding the transition UI screen (moddable) and/or the post-transition loading script (modding this one is not possible without replacing the game's original file AFAIK).

What could be great is to have something modular, similar to TSL e.g. when an age changes, each AI civ would favor the civ of the TSL location that is the closest to the barycenter of its cities (maybe weighted by city size?)
This way it would work with any civ and custom mods being present or not.

Is there any way to turn on ai > 12 in multiplayer games? The previous version of the game was feasible, but now I can't do it.

Damn Firaxis, every f***ing time. There is ONE mod that makes this game playable and they manage to break it at every update.

I can see this error in the modding.log

Loading data/maps.xml
[2025-11-05 12:22:56] Warning: UpdateDatabase - Error Loading XML.

Looks like they renamed the AgeProgressionEvents, removing them fixes the error but game still crashs before the game actually starts.

Thanks for the update. That's the first thing I thought of when I downloaded the update!

Accurate Earth maps and TSL is the only way I like to play Civ, not to mention being able to choose only ancient civs with ancient leaders to start in the ancient era. Hope this mod get fixed soon!

Hey there, I currently play games regularly with 12 Civilizations under these conditions:

I have changed the size of my Standard map size to be larger since I am uncertain if Large and Huge map types are slightly buggy right now, and play *exclusively* on the Fractal map type since I have been customizing it to suit the demands of 12 players purely through the global map parameters in order to ensure that spacing between Civs is adequate and reliable. All other map types break down and are not playable with the changes I have made unfortunately. Ignoring that obvious flaw, I do play with this in multiplayer and besides the highly desired fact that the spacing is fine, human players (so far) have always spawned on the home continent and not Distant Lands which I have seen some edits fall into the problem of.

I emphasize that you MUST manually select the 12 Civilizations in the lobby (you will need to duplicate 2 because there are only 10 Antiquity era Civilizations released right now) otherwise the AI will not spawn in at all. Random leaders appears to be completely fine for me to this point.

I have shared the edits I have made in the attached folder and where to place them in the Readme. I tend to like things closer than most, but you can yourself edit the grid width and height if you feel you want more or less space via the maps.xml file.

Enjoy!
Hello, excuse me, is there any way to exceed 8 people in multiplayer games now?
