Your most disgusting local food

People put it on all sorts of stuff here.
:vomit:

Ranch is damn delicious.

Makes freezer pizza taste good.

Ham hock, by far.

For Britain I'll nominate anything in mint sauce, also steak-and-kidney pie on behalf of my Dad.

For Argentina let's mention some quite dreadful salads. And some cake-oid stuff involving strawberries whose origin can be traced to Austrian bakeries. :cringe:

Pig hooves, ears, chunks of skin etc. You know, the left overs. They go in a big pot and fried. Nice and crunchy snack. Nothing goes to waste.

Fruit doused in chili powder.

Beer mixed with tomato juice and salt.

Pure salt on a stick.

Tamales. Salty corn dough wrapped in corn leaves.

Corn in a cup mixed with hot sauce and mayonnaise.

Tamales? Then they can't have been prepared properly.

Wait! You're in Mexico. The best ones come from Tucumán province in Argentina.

I want someone to explain to me how blood stew and duck embryo could be possibly delicious.

Don't think there's anything of note here in Ontario though.

No, no, no. Those Mexican things are not real tamales.

i have to applaud British cousine for the tendecy to put vinegar in, well, potentially everything.
My experience from living with a London middle class family for a week was that they put ketchup in everything.
I'm not Icelandic but let's get the winner out of the way.
Poisonous fish being fermented to be digestable? I am not exactly a fish enthusiast so yeah - sounds very disgusting.

Well, if you put it in perspective it seems to barely stick out as more disgusting than the other stuff...

Don't get me started on what an insult that stuff on the right is to actual bread...

Ok, that's... less pleasant.
Have you suggested sugar? The result is probably the same, but it's cheaper. :mischief:

I'm gonna hold my punches and just post.... eggs. :mischief:

From China, Century egg (chicken egg buried in a particular mixture for several weeks):

From Philippines, Balut (fertilized duck egg):
