2008 NBA Playoffs

Webber was a choker on a team of chokers. Shaq was not doing a whole lot of championship winning without killer instinct guys like Kobe and Wade, but now that he has Nash & Amare...I dunno if they are the same mold.

Shaq cannot carry the team himself but he has shown the ability to rip one apart himself, and not even the greatness of Karl Malone could bring it all together in the end. Not saying that will happen again, just that the "winner" quality of Shaq is a little overblown.

No way this series ends in 6 though. This HAS to go 7 games, the Spurs were incredibly lucky to get this series handed to them on a 6 game platter last year.

Yea, or ending up like the Celtics and getting the 4th pick. This time there is no Garnett waiting for them in free agency though :p

Where you at Red Door? Cleveland is laying some WOOD, and Bitter Beer Face about has another triple double.

James pwned washington obviously

It wasn't just James. Ol' Wally scored more points (15) than any member of Washington's big 3. Boobie and Z had big games as well. Heck, even Ben Wallace had 8 and 7 I think. Thats not good.

Lebron is going to get at least 25-5-4 every night, no matter what. If you limit everybody else, and keep Lebron from going crazy on you, you can beat the Cavs. If you double and triple Lebron every time he drives, you're going to leave shooters open all night. Sometimes Cleveland makes those looks, and when they do, they're an NBA title contender. Sometimes they don't, and then they're 2nd round fodder.

Cleveland should have tried to swing a deal for AI lat year. Offer them Hughes and someone else. That'd be a great team. LeBron and AI would attack, attack, attack, and foul the other team out of the game.

They should have taken a stab at KG too.

AI and Melo are good but not nearly as good as AI and LeBron would be. I don't feel Melo attacks hard enough or tries hard enough every night.

The Cavs did try to get KG, as well as several other that have been traded recently. Problem is they just didn't have the players to get them. Their only hope was to receive a sweetheart deal like the one the Grizz gave the Lakers for Pau Gasol.

Give LeBron another star to work with and the Cavs will be scary good.

Cleveland tried hard to get KG and Jason Kidd, but they didn't have a whole lot to work with, since they didn't have many younger players or expiring contracts.

I assumed that this massive trade wasn't meant to be the final cavs product. A few of those massive contracts are set to come off the books next year or the year after (Wally and Big Ben, I'm looking at you), so they might have attractive trading blocks, along with Anderson V. I think Cleveland will try to swing a deal with the Bucks for Redd next season, although they might also be looking at the Clippers and Knick's rosters...

LeBron James sure is going to look good in a Brooklyn Nets uniform in a couple of years.

Spurs up 2-0... :)

Why does Toronto keep starting TJ Ford when Jose Calderon is so obviously the better PG of the two?

Why is Ginobili on the bench when he is a top 10 player in the NBA and one of its top playoff players? :p Maybe they are hoping for an injection when he comes into the game, I'm not quite sure.

Pumping TJ Ford's trade value?

I would totally follow that argument if Calderon was a better scorer than Ford, But it's exactly the other way around. Calderon is better as a distributor (his assist-turnover ration is the best in the league) and Ford is the more explosive scorer.

As for trade value: I don't think many teams will trade for a speedy PG with a dodgy spinal cord...

Doesn't hurt to try :p And I'm sure the Knicks have a roster spot open, unless they are still paying Allen Houston
