I see no difference between how we are voting now and the First Past the Post, unless we get to vote again after initial rounds and the losing parties were dropped.

Well currently its just voting on your favourite party, its not really first past the post since there is no actual set in stone means of determining who actually wins the election save in the exceedingly unlikely instance that one party gains over 50% of the vote. It just depends on how we discern what happens once the vote is over
