I have never, even for a moment, disliked you.

Huh I have good friends and family I’d describe as racist *******s. It’s not exclusive to whether I like you or not, but since you and I don’t be have any other type of discourse it would really depend eons on how that first beer went.

But I suppose here where there is no overt racism
No, sorry, there is in this instance.

You'll look through my posting history. I only occasionally call Trump's behaviour racist. This is one of those times.

That a member of his base denies it is not a surprise. Your detector is broken, and so you'll make comments above your pay grade. The fact that some of the media piled on doesn't mean much when it comes to disproving that. Sure, you can make a good case that the current media is pablum. Or that Trump's political opponents are morons. Whatevs. These are important things. It's also important that Trump's base doesn't mind this behaviour on his part. It's also important that the base will deny that it's racist.

Yeah....except for your example we'd have to be saying some homophobic trope along with it. Maybe you should sit this one out...
Sorry, missed this response.

When quoting you, I discarded everything that didn't serve my argument, which only left the offensive pronoun "he," but who cares? This trigger word proves that regardless of what your intentions, your meaning, and the rest of your post actually was, it was transphobic at its core. Pretty brazen of you to lean on ossified heteronormative endearments like that in order to dogwhistle anti-LGBTQ solidarity to your comrades. Queu the headlines.

I think someone broke @Tristan_C

The point is still ignorant and silly. Next you are going to argue that epithet are for minorities are okay as long as they aren’t used ina derogatory manner. Or even if they are as long as the person using them doesn’t really mean it that’s way. Like for real mean it.

I like the claim that we really don't understand Trump's tweets.
Yes, to a racist, they won't sound racist.

I think it is a cry wolf thing, to a degree. Trump is clearly racist, yet the fact that so many hungry hippos spoke of racism in contexts where it was just their own projection, made a lot others care less about the issue overall. Which is unfortunate, but side effects are the only certain result of any action.

This was true well before Trump. Conservatives don’t actually like having to reconcile America’s history with the one it wants to imagine.

Sadly a higher percentage than I would like, but not yet 50%

"Love it or leave it" is not "go back". "Go back" implies you came from somewhere else in the first place. He's just using birtherism all over again. No comparison between the two.

“Why don’t they go back and help fix the totally broken and crime infested places from which they came.”

His war of words with Omar gave birth to that tweet and she was foreign born. He's accusing her of ingratitude and hypocrisy and love it or leave it is the message I read into that tweet. Do you think Trump would be telling her to 'go back' if she was a Republican supporter of Trump?

Do you think Trump would be telling her to 'go back' if she was a Republican supporter of Trump? If not, it aint racist.
If she was a Trump supporter the odds are she wouldn't be a minority. ;)
Sorry doesn't fly. RACIST. If she was white and from the UK, do you think he would have told her to go back?

"He" is only an offensive pronoun if the person you're referring to doesn't identify as "he." So the only way my post would be offensive is if Trump doesn't identify as a "he". If I missed some news about Trump's gender I apologize, otherwise your analogy is stupid.

Let's look at the logic itd take for the tweets to not be racist using the context you keep referring to. He (again, pardon me if theres news about the Don's gender) said they need to fix the corrupt and inept governments where they came from. If he meant country of origin, for 3 of the 4 he'd be talking about his own administration being inept and corrupt. I'd agree with him there and I'm pretty sure that's what they're trying to do.

That's probably not the case though so he must mean local governments right? Except he's from NYC just like AOC. He ran for national office while claiming the US was in the pits because of Obama. Shouldn't he have fixed NYC before running for national office like he's telling these reps to? That's essentially the interpretation you want us to take right? A self own by Trump.

Either he made a very convoluted effort to insult local governments that fell on mostly deaf ears or a simple racist bullhorn comment. Trump's a pretty simple guy so I know which one I'd go with.

The UK aint Somalia, 'ingratitude' is part of his accusation. Yes, I can see him saying that to a white immigrant who came here and criticized the US after being taken in as a refugee.

Tristan, you don't understand transgender issues, either. Your caricature was mocking, but only for those who don't understand the topic. It mostly just comes across as ignorant. A caricature requires features that the audience can recognize. You need to broaden your base of understanding.

I think that immigrants (or even emigrants) realistically do have to be a bit more careful and sensitive about their new country's reality/situation. I mean it is part of being one who came there from some other place. You always are the foreigner (I was that in London).
Probably it is one of the reasons why chinese tend to do well everywhere: they don't try to impose their own way on their new country.

I’d agree with this if Omar was coming here and trying to install warlords over local
Municipalities in Minnesota. If a Chinese person comes here and starts arguing for one party rule I’d take issue with that. Unfortunately both are much more likely positions for the right wing here in the US not Omar.

I can't and let me know when that happens.
