Lmao "and then left"... "left"...and went where? To go try and overthrow the government, to install himself as authoritarian, that's where...

EDIT: Not to mention that he's CURRENTLY RUNNING for POTUS... he didn't leave at all...
His moaning and groaning aside, Trump left the presidency at the appointed time. Ergo, he was not a dictator. Though I'm sure he would've liked to have been.
What are you quibbling about?

"Though I'm sure he would've liked to have been"

That's worth "quibbling" about isn't it?

I'd just rather not see people talking past one another for pages longer. So in summary:
- Smellincoffee thinks there are worse things in the world than Trump re: political violence and that he seemingly doesn't care very much about Jan.6; Whatever.
- Sommerswerd thinks Trump is a dictator because he...I don't know...nonetheless presided over those events (???). OK fine if that's what you think.
So it's Trump being a bloviating jackass about everything, which is interesting news to precisely no one.

Moderator Action: And how about we get back to "non Biden dropping out" election news.

Just saw Harris speak at HQ, night and day difference between this and Atlanta. Is it actually possible? Can we elect a president president who doesn't need adult diapers?

Thanks be to Mod.

I'm a little weirded about about the fact that Biden has not popped up to say anything aside from that tweet his team announced.

Harris had her first public appearance since the news a couple of hours back--in front of campaign staff but covered on MSNBC.

Biden called in. Thanked his staff profusely; encouraged them to support Harris. (His campaign manager has agreed to be Harris')

No need to be weirded out.

I think good. What you don't need right now is somebody trying to get up to speed.

Don't worry. Kamala Harris' won't get up to speed.
Do we have a speech from her that makes sense - that's conveys leadership or ... a coherent thought?
She's just going to be the next puppet for the company/media people that really are in charge in the USA.
Again, the main reason no one should trust politicians is because they are just representing the sponsors that give them money.

You seriously didn't see anything about it in the last 3 years?
It was completely obvious to many people that Biden wasn't all there anymore.

I mean, I don't follow the politics of foreign countries that closely, but I was under the impression that his performance at latest debate & other recent gaffes was an entirely new level in terms of "this guy is not all right up there"

Overall it was a screw up regardless rendering his candidacy as non viable.

Watched part of a speech by Kamala about her pa's as a prosecutor and alluding to Trump. Not bad she came across well. Might even be a drop of charisma and fight in her.

Now Trump's the semi incoherent one.

Republican Ohio state Senate says Civil War is the only way to save America if Trump loses.

I wonder what that even means, i.e. what his vision of a civil war looks like? Cause I'm telling you there will be no Bull Run or Gettysburg reenactments. To me a civil war would look like an endless series of domestic terrorist attacks by each side. Remember this guy is an elected official putting that kinda of hate out into the theoretical realm. People like to make those statements and I am not sure if they realize the gravity of their words. Basically, he saying "lets go murder unarmed innocents in the name of our party" a la the Oklahoma city bombing. What an a**hole. Hes talking about killing Americans, sounds like a terrorist to me.

I enjoy Republicans blowing a fuse because their entire campaign progam was "running against Joe Biden".

But Harris is just as much a part of the Biden administration, so their entire campaign revolved around dissing the person Biden. Which goes like this: "He's been so terrible for this country", "he's the worst president in like ever".

Well, guys, you know ... you could of course run on policies. Campaign on that. And I mean a little more detailed than: Imma gonna stop da war.

Thst would require intelligence.
