The crazy thing is, that I don't think this does anything to raise public awareness of the danger of covid. To the contrary, I think that Trump will recover and then may just spin his own recovery as proof that the disease isn't a big deal. My inner conspiracy theorist is reminding me that he could do this whether he actually contracted it or not.

I am thinking that this provides the out that we all needed. Trump can lose the election and blame it on having been quarantined to preserve his fragile ego. Maybe we won't have to go through a violent protection of the constitution.

Trump supporters probably think George Will is a member of antifa. That's if they know who George Will is at all. How many American conservatives today even read conservative thinkers?

You missed absolutely nothing. It was a trainwreck total disaster from beginning to end. Complete waste of time. Trump was ridiculous and Biden barely spoke. They should honestly cancel the rest. Before I even saw the first one I was thinking that it was a mistake for Biden to participate. I feel that way even more now.

So Hope Hicks was in close contact, maskless as is White House policy, on a regular basis including Wednesday (the day she was notably symptomatic) with Kayleigh McEnany. Hope Hicks was confirmed tested positive Thursday morning. Thursday Keyleigh McEnany, who at that point should have been quarantined do to known exposure, addressed the White House press corps. Of course they wore masks to help protect her and each other. Of course she did not because she doesn't give a fudge about protecting anyone else. Today a member of the White House press corps has tested positive.
 
I wonder who passed it to Hope?
 
In reality apparently the chairman of the RNC is also positive and it has probably run rampant through RNC HQ and the campaign staff.

If we are lucky it will decimate the segment of the donor class that has stuck with the GOP.
 
Hope may have gone to a party or something in DC. That'd be my guess, she picked it up from an asymptomatic spreader in DC social circles. Could be wrong though.

I would think the constant interactions between the campaign and the RNC make professional contacts a very likely source, especially since both of those professional groups are in the business of pressing the flesh with as many people per day as possible. Running a campaign in this environment, while following a directive of "act normal, pretend there's no pandemic" is just inviting this outcome.

May not matter. IIRC there is still no strong evidence that contracting the virus once means you can't contract it again.

So she doesn't give a crap about the plight of immigrant children and she actually did intentionally wear that "I don't care" jacket during the kids-in-cages controversy to troll people. Ironic, considering she is an immigrant herself, but certainly not surprising... I mean, she's married to Trump, she sold her soul a long time ago.
