2020 US Election (Part Two)

226k dead from Covid in US under Trump.

If you are blaming dead bodies caused by George W Bush or Obama (but according to you is Biden), then what about the Millions, maybe billions who will die because of Global Warming, which Trumps anti-environmental policies will have significantly contributed to?

Yet you say Trump is better??

If you think Trump is better then you either do not understand Global Warming, or don't care about the damage it will do and the dead lives that will result.

Trump doesn't run the states, so thats 200k+ under governors and legislatures too. A bunch of people died in NY nursing homes because Cuomo didn't want the elderly clogging up the hospitals. If Biden was President in 2020 y'all wouldn't be putting this on his shoulders for listening to the same experts advising Trump.

Joe Biden voted for the war in Iraq, hell yes I blame him for the dead bodies. As for global warming, I dont know that it will cost lives. A warmer wetter world might support more people. But thats not comparable to dropping bombs on people and the fracking boom started under Obama and Biden, so this notion corporate Democrats will save us is a joke. Atmospheric terraforming will solve the problem and we're close to the technology.

Anyway, putting money where my mouth is.

I'm betting 50 bucks on the election. North Carolina, Georgia, Florida and Texas. Texas I put the biggest stake down on.

I'm not 100% confident of Biden winning all 4, but I think his chances are being underrated in all 4 of them. I'm fairly confident that at least Biden will win North Carolina and Florida, so I'm only out less than 20 bucks.

First time betting. Anybody else going to be betting? Or just general predictions.

Biden is a mass murderer, being better aint hard. Now, you were complaining about someone putting words in your mouth?
Am I? You literally just proved my point. You'll cape for Trump, including playing down the deaths he's responsible for, at any given opportunity. But you're apparently bipartisan and definitely don't rate Trump.

I understand there being no good candidates. I don't stand for fake claims of you somehow being fair when you recite pro-GOP conspiracies and Fox News nonsense all the time.

You're also complaining about me apparently haranguing you, but I didn't tag or quote you. You elected to respond, more than a page later. I can't help that.

The WHO say "Climatic changes already are estimated to cause over 150,000 deaths annually." Its only going to get worse. :(
https://www.who.int/heli/risks/climate/climatechange/en/[/USER]

So do you blame Obama and Biden for these deaths?

That estimate includes deaths as a result of extreme weather conditions, which may be occurring with increased frequency. Changes in temperature and rainfall conditions also may influence transmission patterns for many diseases, including water-related diseases, such as diarrhoea, and vector-borne infections, including malaria. Finally, climate change may affect patterns of food production, which in turn can have health impacts in terms of rates of malnutrition. There is further evidence that unmitigated greenhouse gas emissions would increase disease burdens in the coming decades. The risks are concentrated in the poorest populations, who have contributed the least to the problem of greenhouse gas emissions.

There's more people in the way of storm tracks, but I've read hurricanes were stronger during the little ice age because of greater temperature contrasts - as the higher latitudes warm up faster than the equator conflicting air masses lose contrast. There's more people in the way of diseases too. A warmer world means more habitat, water, and arable land. Global warming created civilization.

But I call out the crimes, faults, failings, corruption, and betrayals by both major candidates - and both major parties - and yet a lot of posters around here, including yourself, act as if I might as well be caping for Trump, even if only @Drakle, @Cutlass, and @Lexicus outright make a baseless and slanderous false accusation directly to that intent.

Triggered Trumper.

Where does the buck stop?

Does that mean Biden is not responsible for any deaths in a war he supported? Bush aint running for President, so the buck stops with the candidate who voted for the war. When Obama and Hillary ran in 2008 she lost votes to him because she voted for the war too.

I'm not bipartisan and I'm not complaining about you haranguing me, you were complaining about someone else and I was amused by your haranguing. Did you stand for the 4 years of fake claims and conspiracies of Russiagaters? I see you're back to putting words in my mouth.

I should put some money down. I'm betting Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Texas go for Trump, at least. Arizona could go Biden. All depends on exactly how many mailed ballots are left uncounted, or shredded, or burned, or changed, and on how many voters are chased away by Republican poll guards for their appearance.

And another quote attributing actions to me that I have not made. Can you give it a rest? Or is accusing people of things they didn't do apparently okay when you do it?

If you're not bipartisan, what are you? Anti-both-parties? Independent? The same criticism applies - your actions do not match your claims.

The whole shtick about "Russiagaters" just proves my point more. You consume and recite pro-GOP propaganda on a regular basis, and then get offended when people call you a Trump supporter. Is it not accurate? It's like calling me a leftist. I am a leftist, or socialist, of whatever specific point my beliefs and ideals position me at on the four-quarter chart.

Kinda an odd slate of states. You wouldn't get good odds on Texas. If you think the election is close enough for Trump to win PA and WI, than you would be better off betting on Trump winning overall, Florida or North Carolina.

@Drakle might want to fix the no-no words.

Berz, c'mon... No. Global warming is good for us? Seriously?:dubious:

First off, global warming means loss of glacial ice, which means rising sea levels which means loss of habitat, drinking water and arable land, right? Second, global warming means that deserts and dry spots will expand, decreasing arable land, right?

I mean maybe the case could be made that retreating cold zones means that land which was previously tundra becomes temperate, theoretically increasing arable land, but that also means loss of habitat for the species that live there, but there is another problem... thawing tundra releases deadly diseases like anthrax as the frozen carcasses of dead animals like caribou begin to thaw. As an aside... tundra thawing doesn't do much of anything for us in the US anyway, besides maybe Alaska, and I don't see us moving our breadbasket up there. Canada and Russia might benefit, but all we get is a bunch of dust bowls.

A related thing worth mentioning is something I saw in a NETFLIX documentary series called "Connected". One episode showed how the Amazon rainforest is actually dependent on a steady stream of tens of thousands of tons dust blowing in across the Atlantic from the Sahara desert. Without it, the erosion from the constant rainfall and extensive waterways would make plant life unsustainable, killing the Amazon and essentially turning it into a swamp rather than a jungle. So ironically, apparently even if global warming did somehow make the Sahara fertile, all that would accomplish is killing the Amazon in the process. They didn't go that far into it, but it was very interesting and worth a watch.

Congo had to do with a minor western country and not with one of the big (colonial) powers and therefore less interesting for the global ideological discussions.
Not really. One of the biggest companies in Katanga was Tanganyika Concessions, which was a British company. Katanga was also closely integrated with Northern Rhodesia/Zambia and the Central African Federation. The British government used the CAF as a way to smuggle arms and mercenaries into Katanga while permitting it to export through Northern Rhodesia to either Tanganyika or Portuguese Angola. While it was the Belgians who engaged in the elimination definitive of Lumumba, the UK had some plans kicking around if subsequent statements by MI5 are accurate. While it was never entirely clear how serious the US plans were to assassinate Lumumba, they were also being thrown around.
France also had a substantial interest in the Congo due to their close political and financial relations with Belgian. A number of French soldiers were encouraged to take leaves of absence to fight for Katanga.
The US also basically ended up running the show out of Leopoldville while the Soviets were failing to turn the Stanleyville government into a Thing. FOIA documents and subsequent interviews show the US was aiding Mobutu since late 1960.

The point is, and this is the point you continually refuse to acknowledge, is that you act like a Democrat who once got a parking ticket is equally as bad as a Republican who makes a regular practice of raping babies to death on satanic alters.

What you post here trivializes the crimes of those who really are the most monstrous. And in doing so, effectively supports the ones who are most monstrous.
