I wanted to say Farm Boy seems to hate everything that doesn't meet his strict though ill-defined criteria, but Patine had to come back and steal the whining thunder.

I see you haven't trancended any of your odious forum habits either, which are many and manifold, and probably all utterly invisible to you.

Word error that would be too easy to exploit fixed.

Irony, thy name is Patine. I'm still waiting on your apology for misconstruing my position, something you yourself regularly get offended at being done to you. I'll happily welcome a private message, if that's what you prefer.

The TOS of CivFanatics do not disallow musing about general applications in a broad sense of an idea another poster came up with, even while still obstensibly engaged in conversation with said poster, nor does the common views of casual discourse demand such tunnel vision focus. We are not in the military nor a court of law - or sitting in an elected legislative body, for that matter, and certainly not before the Queen. There is such a thing as the "flow of conversation and ideas," even if you, personally, do not like it's direction. The flows and directions of conversations and their twists and turns I have had to endure on these forums make my sympathy for you on the issue less than nothing.

No, and yes.

Your forum conduct is close to @aelf's in odiousness, and certainly far worse than mine or @Farm Boy's, but, like with @aelf, I'm sure that's utterly invisible to you, too. The way you two talk down to certain people as though you had a higher ground you in fact certainly completely lack makes me groan every time I see a notification that one of you two has made a response - a "what is it this time?" feeling. Again, probably utterly invisible to you two.

Part of friends is letting them vent at your face when they need it, I suppose. Do you think I can vent to my boss when he tells me how to vote, at length, and what to watch? Or how about one of the previous ones and his opinion of the residents of my township and their apparent proclivity for childfudging because the population per square mile isn't up to snuff? No, I vent to Sommer, or you, or Tim or somebody. And I don't vent about their family, because while generalizations are easy to toss, they land badly on actual people.

The United States has a lot of soft power in Canada, so a reasonable portion a Canadians are actually American imperialists. As well, there is the evangelical or pro-life Canadian

Pro-Life... :S

Anti-Abortion and Anti-Euthanasia is the honest label for the great majority of these people, as their usually all for so many other ways of deliberate killing by Government or it's branches or arms, or knowing negligent killing being "decriminalized," especially for corporate deregulation and "heartless society," issues, or turning a blind eye to many private citizen or organization killings, that the term "Pro-Life," is an insult to hear. Please, "Anti-Abortion and Anti-Euthanasia," NOT "Pro-Life."

You're just lucky they don't get along with the Senate expanders. They'd be trying to "give" you 20 senators or something.

Give ME 20 Senators? I've never been able to vote for one in my life...

Well, I was just multiplying provinces by 2, I have no idea the lay of the land with the politics of the territories. Imperialism, all that. Did I wiki that right, at least? I got paranoid about scrubbing the count. We can toss in grandmommy land too, if you want, but you'd probably have to break up England, California would have an identity crisis if it wasn't the biggest.

I feel Imperialistic expansionism is much harder to accomplish when the Imperialist power is tearing itself viciously apart and lacks any unity at all internally. The Roman Empire stopped expanding when the rot within that led to it's decline and then fall really set in as well.

The hegemon has one meaningful people to fight with. Don't worry, that won't be us soon*, so some of the drive to suck less is just over the horizon. Comforting, I'm sure.

*I don't think it is already, but people pretending.

You don't want to take a poll on that.

People with a realistic, pragmatic view of the future and where the global balance of power is really headed in the next few decades should brush up on their Mandarin, study Socialism with Chinese Characteristics, and learn to kiss Whinnie the Pooh's butt but good...

You don't want to take a poll on that.

I'm not concerned about polls on that issue. I'm well aware, from a certain politician whose brought up ad nauseum on these forums, that the most popular (or at least the obsessed over, if not popular) are often also the most toxic and odious.

Eh. We're just getting teachers around here who can actually speak Spanish. Our culture share stretches south better than that far east. Particularly if we/everyone manages to flood them into fleeing north en masse.

It seems more like "south," stretches to you...

Yeah, reworded.

I'm fine with that. They generally make an awful lot of sense to me, but then again that's probably growing up walking beans with more than a few.

What Trump is doing now is irrelevant to what the scientists were telling people during the 1st quarter when the bug was initially spreading. As for reality:

is Este lying too?

this is so dishonest it’s even seems crazy for you. Literally in the previous part of the same post you argue that trump is not paying g attention to science now and that it’s irrelevant to the very statement cloud made about the continuing disregard for science in this administration. They are openly anti-science. I would not believe it if he did not say it out loud.

Then in the next part of the same post you use me saying that at the beginning they did follow the CDC playbook to what? Belittle Clouds point? It’s pretty audacious double talk but then again you are a libertarian who believes in “national healthcare” supposedly so the cognitive dissonance within your own mind must be pretty intense.
